John.H.Potter was born in London in 1936 and has been living in Melbourne Australia since 1956
He studied at London University and worked for many years in Melbourne building & designing homes. His debut exhibition in Melbourne at the Brunswick street Art Gallery titled "Light at the end of the tunnel" is a body of work influenced by John's childhood and his horrific memories of being a 'child of
war' growing up during the London Blitz, where he sheltered underground with families, as well as later again in the Bristol bombings; Also, of other times where he was free to explore Stone Henge and Cheddar caves, as well as other ancient cathedral and castle ruins. Non-digenerate art is a term coined by John, to describe his work, which gives the appearance of digitally produced work, but is actually produced without the reliance on computer's or digital generation. It is work created by the artist's hand. https://www.facebook.com/JHPotterDesigns

John.H.Potter studied Archetecture in London and relocated to Australia in 1956, where he went on to build and design homes, to great critical acclaim, in and around Melbourne. After retiring and becoming a Grandfather, John, did charity work as a "Patch Adams wellness clown" at hospitals and festivals, which inspired him to reignite and explore his creative side further. After nearly 10 years in the art-studio, at the grande age of 78 he is now ready to publicly share his original creative designs and art pieces with the world. Deeply inspired by classical literature, great music, spirituality and life's great unknowns ... John Potters artwork can intrigue the viewer again and again with fresh nuances, newly noticed, each time your eyes return to its meditative stare. One of the practical benefits of Johns designs and artworks is that they come in "families of design"-where there is a strong theme linking a collection of individual works. So, one picture can link to another-thus allowing the art buyer to create their own designs at home out of several individual works grouped together. You can actually create, within Johns designs, out of Johns work. In a building block sort of fashion....Like a abstract jigsaw puzzle. A buyer can purchase one screen and then another and another...allowing their wall to grow into a mural of screens, or become like a wall paper. The individual works connect into one and are all interlinked with Johns design. Therefore, Johns contribution to your home or workspace can be a single frame or all encompassing. Another feature of John Potters work is its light and shade. Predominantly it is in black and white, thus matching virtually all decor. Also, within his bold modern designs, there is recurring ancient symbol's, very fine line details, and subtle moods. Once again the contrast of "noise" within each visual symphony, John has created, will complement nearly any environment. Another unique feature to Johns work is it is fully fluorescent, and really comes alive under a U.V light. Because Johns background is in home design, he understands the essence of creating interior decor which captures the delicate balance of comfort, inspiration and passion. Johns artwork and designs are available in: AO , A2, A1 and A3 sizes. Artistic method: John Potter's designs come from his dreams and to bring them into our world he utilizes a blend of multimedia art forms including, lead, felt tip pen drawing, charcoal rubbings and photography.
