'I sculpt primarily in plaster that is then cast in bronze or bronze resin. I also work in wood, stone and decoupage. My influences range from Henry Moore, Elisabeth Frink and Barbara Hepworth to Ossip Zadkine and Leon Bronstein. A sculpture can take between one month to six months to create from beginning to casting. Bases are in granite, stone or wood.'

I never thought that the body contained so many bits and pieces! My 'body' painting will be something quite anatomically disjuncted. Hope that no physicians take this up... To follow.

Working on new bowls and sculptures. Summer in the studio is fascinating - especially as the lavender bush outside is literally a hive of activity. I'll be posting some new photos soon. Meanwhile the wonderful pro-markers are still being used to full potential on other paintings. Not always easy to be enthused. The 'muse' often departs. Have to get it back when it disappears and utilise what productivity I can amass.

Realise that I really ought to make more of this page. Now making pots! Will post photos soon. Still painting with fibre tips. Portraits a speciality!

I've been doing a lot of painting recently. Really like working with the felt tips. Portraits are fun. Impressions of people, rather than completely lifelike. Now back in the studio. Started a new piece this week.

At last! New studio build starting tomorrow. Phew. It's taken ages to get everything in place. I will then start on new designs and be able to bring this up to date again.

So I think that planning permission is about to be granted. Back to sculpting in September. Meanwhile I'm painting. Never realised quite how time consuming and enjoyable it would be. Sold one painting so far. Am doing a triptych of my Magritte reinvention. Will post more soon.

My studio is out of commission. I guess that it wasn't a very bright idea to install a garden shed that abuts a wall. It couldn't 'breathe' and the plastic skylights have allowed ingress of water so much so that I have charming rivulets of green and brown mould all along the walls! It's not very healthy to take in those spors.

SO, while I await for planning permission to erect a purpose built studio that won't leak, I've taken to pens and paper.

Here are a few examples of the new genre of artwork that I'm starting out on. I hope you like them. Please comment. Give me your feedback. I'm taking commissions on portraiture (in my way).

Enjoy the sunshine!

The studio is now drying out. My lovely builder, David, has lent me a condensing unit and the amount of water collecting in it is quite extraordinary. The problem is that when I want to empty it, I have to take the whole machine out onto the deck and physically turn it over! Some mean feat! Anyway. Darren (the happy chippie) came along and has resealed the bits where the water was collecting and I now have to wait until it's all dried out and damp free so that I will be able to clean it and start again. He also put a couple of vents into it so that air can make it's way in when it's all closed. Phew. Hope to get started on my new projects then.

Infuriatingly my studio is now so damp that I can't work in it! Cutting corners doesn't work. This means that pieces that I started have to wait until I decide what to do: rebuild or renovate.

My latest piece in bronze is being delivered back to me on Thursday. Exciting! Now I have to get back to my rather damp, moldy and smelly studio! That's what happens to garden sheds...
