The Dancing Star - Ensemble Molière
Handel House regulars Ensemble Molière continue our series of recordings from lockdown. So good it's like being at the real concert!
Inspired by their programme The Dancing Star, featuring the music Marie Sallé, one of the first female choreographers, would have danced to on the stages of Paris and London in the first half of the 18th century.

The Scarlatti Sphere - Masumi Yamamoto (harpsichord)
Yesterday evening we would have hosted a concert by Handel House regular Harpsichordist Masumi Yamamoto playing music inspired by Italian Baroque composer Domenico Scarlatti.

Handel at Eastertide
Tonight Handel House would have hosted a recital entitled Handel at Eastertide.
Instead, musicians Clara Kanter (mezzo-soprano), Kate Conway (viola da gamba), and Satoko Doi-Luck (harpsichord) have created this video of one of the Handel pieces they would have performed.

Usually every Tuesday evening we would have a concert of Baroque music in Handel's Music Room at 25 Brook Street.
For the time being we'll be sharing online versions of the concerts we had planned for the next few months. Starting things off is harpsichordist Satoko Doi-Luck with two Handel pieces from her concert programme 300 Years Young.

Today is Handel's 334th Birthday! In celebration here is a clip of Joyce DiDonato & Antonio Pappano performing Handel's aria Piangero here at 25 Brook Street.
Part of the upcoming BBC documentary Pappano's Greatest Arias which airs on BBC Four tomorrow at 9pm.
Jimi Hendrix at 23 Brook Street, Mayfair
50 years ago, on 18 February 1969, Jimi Hendrix headlined the Royal Albert Hall then came back to his flat here on Brook Street for a small gathering, where this film of him playing Hound Dog was recorded.
