"Hi. I hope this finds you well. It seems rather bleak right now doesn’t it?"- TMM Anthology III: Mildly Interesting offers provoking perspectives on the current social and political online landscape
The Moving Museum is a global art project that seeks to re-define the relationship between local art scenes and global practitioners. The Moving Museum is a global art project that seeks to re-define the relationship between local art scenes and global practitioners through a traveling programme of contemporary art exhibitions in significant geographies across the world.
The programme aims to support and present the most innovative artistic voices whose works are shaping contemporary art and developing its future, offering an unparalleled platform for artists and their ideas. Prompted by the need for a global approach, it mobilizes museum standard production, intensive public programming, in-depth publications, dynamic residencies, and a network of international curatorial advisors to mark a long term impact through temporary interventions. The Moving Museum is an independent, not-for-profit, and non-political organization founded by Aya Mousawi and Simon Sakhai; a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) in England and Wales.

"These photographs, I hope, reveal the human in the machine, and the machine in the human. Computers were people once. The word ‘computer’ comes from the 17th century and refers to a person or group of people who undertake complex mathematical calculations. In my photographs, a similar complexity unfolds from the simple toggle switch as it reveals binary, to hexadecimals, to visual. I try to show the act of creation in fields of switches and rivers of wiring." - Mark Richards on his series Core Memory (2007), viewable on TMM Anthology 'Technostalgia'
I am drawn to the mundane, at least to what at first appears mundane. The “average” is never that to me. While these images depict our machine past they also point towards our future as human and machine intertwine. This visuals mark a moment in history that may be as true a point of departure as th...

We are obsessed with the Dot Matrix Synth featured in TMM Anthology #Technostalgia! It was born out of Paul Slocum's software project for the Epson LQ-500 dot matrix printer - transforming it into a #synthesizer. The sounds are made by using the dot matrix printhead, and different tones are created by driving the printhead at different frequencies.
The Dot Matrix Synth is a software project I completed in 2003 for the Epson LQ-500 dot matrix printer to transform the printer into a synthesizer. Even older printers like this Epson have a computer built into them, and for this project I wrote new firmware for this printer. The printer-synth makes...
