Esther Anderson Collection

Esther Anderson Collection Art works by Esther Anderson Esther Anderson. NAACP Image Award actress, fikmmaker and photographer. Her photographic works are represented by TRENHORNE in London, ADAGP in Paris and Stephen Bulger in Toronto.

A selection of her photographs is represented by CORBIS in Paris (SYGMA). The Bulger Gallery writes: "From the late 1950s to the early 1990s, Anderson worked with Island Records in Jamaica to promote Jamaican artists abroad. She personally managed the Jamaican artists Millie Small, Jimmy Cliff, and Bob Marley and The Wailers. Encouraged by photographer and film-maker Jerry Schatzburg, she incorporated the Rastafarian element into The Wailers' image, which she argues helped to create a world revolution, both in sound, perception and philosophy."
