Oşun in the Diaspora Osun was transported to the West Indies and the America’s during the African holocaust, known as African Transatlantic slave trade which spanned over 500 years. She is venerated and celebrated in other religious systems such as Santeria and Candomble influenced by Yoruba cultural belief called Isese. We're just over a week to go until our Odun Oşun Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase a vibrant mix of art from talented artists expressing the essence of Orisa Osun during the annual world festival of Odun Osun, in Osun Nigeria. The exhibition is also a celebration of the presence and essence of ‘Obirin’ (women) in Yoruba culture and society.

Throughout our Odun Ifa exhibitions over the years, we’ve had the chance to marvel at the craftsmanship of our artisans. The varied depictions of rach Opon Ifa is a testament to their skill and creativity. The intricate designs are not just for beauty; they serve as mnemonic aids for the babalawo, helping them recall the vast corpus of Ifa verses and stories. It’s been inspiring to see how art and spirituality intertwine in these pieces. The Opon Ifa is more than just a piece of art; it is a living part of our cultural and spiritual life. It plays a crucial role in ceremonies and consultations, offering guidance and insight. This sacred divination tray has been a focal point of our exhibition, and for good reason.
