Come and join our donation-based event (suitable for all ages and backgrounds!)And discover how to make friends with your mind, in a light-hearted way.

When do we most need to receive self-kindness and self-care? When we’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed - when it’s often the hardest thing to do!

We can regularly say things to ourselves that we wouldn’t dream of saying to others. Our ‘inner critic’ tells us that we’re “not good enough” in a myriad of ways. As if life isn’t stressful enough, we often attack ourselves, too.

Discover quick and simple ways to relax your nervous system, make friends with your mind, and learn how to respond in a mindful and kind way no matter what the situation. You deserve it!

It’s World Mental Health Day today, and this year has been tough for all of us. If you’re struggling, you’re not alone, trust us.

Remember, our brains are basically “don’t get eaten” machines which are designed to keep us safe not make us happy! And we’re all facing unexpected challenges, losses and uncertainty about the future.

So here are 3 tips which may bring relief:

🌍 Remember that you’re not alone - and that relationships are key for happiness

So why not go old-school and write a physical thank-you letter to someone? Research shows that writing a letter (mentioning specific reasons for your gratitude) helps to strengthen both the receiver’s well-being and the writer’s, too!

🌍 Be mindful of what you’re going through

When things are uncertain it’s normal to feel anxious, depressed or unmotivated - and sadly normal to beat ourselves up for it! But beating ourselves up adds a "second arrow” of suffering to what’s already painful. So recognise that events may be impacting you in unexpected ways.

🌍 Give yourself some kindness

Ask yourself, “What’s the kindest thing I can do for myself right now?” Sometimes that looks like taking time for yourself (ie, meditation or a walk) and sometimes that looks like drawing a boundary (ie, switching your phone off at night to avoid doom-scrolling on social media). What’s the first next thing you can do to look after yourself?
