Friends of the Horniman Museum

Friends of the Horniman Museum Welcome! We are the Friends of the Horniman Museum! Our association is a registered charity (no. 800523) which was founded in 1988 in order to support the Horniman Museum and Gardens.

We help by organising a variety of events; from exhibitions, lectures and concerts to walks and plant sales. We are keen to involve both local residents and supporters from further afield. The benefits of joining the association include the chance to be invited to private viewings and exhibitions, a quartley newsletter, group visits, social meetings and the oppoturnity to help organise events to support the Horniman. We are always keen to welcome new members and all donations really do make a difference to us. Please help us further by encouraging your friends, family and neighbours to become Friends of the Horniman, why not buy gift membership for someone you know? For more sign up details and subscription fees you can either email us at [email protected] or go to the Horniman Museum and Gardens website to download an application form:

AN APRIL OUTING - The DDFAS (Dulwich Decorative and Fine Arts Society) have kindly invited the Friends of the Horniman to a lecture on 'THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE SUNDIAL'. Lecturer Kevin Kearney states, "the history of the sundial outstrips the clock by at least 2000 years". The talk will take place on MONDAY 16TH APRIL from 10.30am till 15.15pm at a house in Dulwich (TBC). It looks like a fascinating day so if you are interested tickets cost £20. Tea and coffee will be provided but bring your own packed lunches please. For all ENQUIRIES call 020 8699 5909. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Treasurer, Ian Davenport, reminds Friends that subs can now be paid the 'modern' way! We are so glad many of you have switched to paying by standard order or internet banking and would encourage those who have not yet used this method to consider doing so. As ever we are grateful for all the money we receive!
