Watching the new Wham! documentary on Netflix reminded me of this photo from my own collection of the first time I met George and Andrew after they individually signed their record deals for CBS and Epic in 1982. Crazy times for us all back then!

The first Wham! single of the album was NUMBER ONE today, 35 years ago in the UK. Interesting fact, remember that the videoclip for the song was released much later, due the single release of the songs nearly 1 year later in the USA, in summer 1985. And it was really rare, that a song without a videoclip reached the top position. They also remixed a new version of the song for the US release, which you can recognize especially on the end of the song, the last 35 seconds with the trompets and the extra vocals of George. Freedom reached number 3 on the US Billboard charts, Sep 28th, 1985.
