Horsforth Museum funded by Horsforth Village Historical Society 1988 Your museum is open again from Sat 26th of March 2022 each weekend Sat 10am until 4pm and Sunday 2pm until 5pm.

If you would like to open the museum with us why not be a volunteer.

There are three clock faces photographed in these pictures. The building is the old chapel across from Horsforth museum demolishes 1886 ish if you are not aware. The stained glass window also appears twice, and available to view again in another local location today.

One of Mr William Paul of Cookridge Hall sons lived at Cookridge Towers, the gate house is still there I think on Hospital Lane. Another son lived at Bramhope Hall, demolished to build the Post House Hotel. Here we have Pics of Cookridges Towers and Bramhope Hall also the viewing tower of Bramhope Hall lovingly restored.

Not Horsforth, but not far Pauls Pond Cookridge, have you ever wondered who is Paul, well this is he. Mr Paul William handsome industrialist, and this is one of his mounted fish which would have been on display in Cookridge Hall his home. Caught in Pauls Lake as he preferred it to be known in 1899.
Remember the boat house anyone.
Doubt such a specimen would be caught there today. I will look in my archive for more, if anyone interested.

Private education in Edwardian Days. Mr Bussell gives notice 1906 to the Zion Baptist Cragg Hill, Horsforth, he is moving his private Commercial School to a house in the Regent Road area. He had moved about a bit from Jamaca and Bristol. Apparently, it was cold and damp in the building he was renting from the church, I wonder which house he had his school, come on Cragg Hill folk, have a dig around.
