Feargus Hetherington and Geoffrey Tanti brought our last concert of the season to a close in spectacular fashion. We were treated to an original composition performed by Feargus and the composer himself, Eddie Mcguire (of Whistlebinkies fame)
Look out for updates on the 2023 season of music at Low Parks Museum, Hamilton.
What a wonderful concert yeterday evening in Hamilton's Low Parks Museum, starring Feargus Hetherington and Geoffrey Tanti. A beautiful programme included A Birthday Suite by Eddie McGuire, a piece that deserves to be performed and heard far more often. Thanks also to Aileen Anderson and her team at South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture for having the vision to bring back chamber music concerts to this beautiful venue. We hope there will be more to follow in the Spring.

To support the current temporary exhibition, our mini-mausolea have taken up new hiding places around the museum. Once you've visited the free "Reimagining the Mausoleum" exhibition, come and help us find them all!
After such lovely sunshine this morning & early afternoon, we had to beat a swift retreat indoors, thanks to this... There really is nothing quite like Scottish weather!
There are plenty of sheets available in our Activity Area. We have Sunflowers, Easter themes and IWD colouring. If you give your completed sunflowers to reception, we'll even add them to our window display!
On Monday, we said goodbye to the magnificent Avon Engine which has taken pride of place in the reception of Low Parks Museum for several years. With the help of Rolls Royce Heritage Society, we waved the Avon off to pastures new. Our links to Rolls Royce continues nonetheless, and a model of a Tay engine can be seen on display, in our Eclectech Gallery. This short video shows what it can take to safely move collections. Thankfully not all redisplays use the same amount of workforce! As ever, our thanks to everyone involved.
What about a bite to eat, a bowl of soup or a tasty treat? The home of our history, where old friends meet, It's Low Parks Museum!

We're still overrun by tiny monuments! Come and help us find them. We're open from 10am.
To celebrate the Glasgow Institute of Architects exhibition of entrants to the Mausoleum Competition, we've set a swarm of mausolea free, and they're hiding throughout the museum? Can you help us find them?
You can grab a bargain in the gift shop and a tasty treat in the café when you're visiting Low Parks Museum.
The design skills of the entrants to the GIA competition can be seen in the temporary exhibition in our Fives Court Gallery. The 3D Design skills of our friends in Libraries helped create these Mini Mausolea which are now hidden in plain sight, throughout the open displays in Low Parks. Can you find them all?
Low Parks Museum in Hamilton is a 4-star Visit Scotland attraction, situated in the Low Parks of the Duke of Hamilton's former estate. Its two historic buildings are of national importance - Portland, built in 1696 as the private home of David Crawford, secretary and lawyer to the 3rd Duke and Duchess of Hamilton, and Hamilton Palace Riding School, built in 1837 by Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton. The museum traces South Lanarkshire’s history, with displays relating to Hamilton Palace and the Royal Burghs; early settlement; working life and agriculture; design, industry and technology; and also the story of the local regiment, The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). A programme of temporary exhibitions and displays also features. There is a small cafe serving a range of sandwiches, soups and tasty snacks.
Entry to the Low Parks Museum is free and parking is also free.
