Explore the beauty of Scotland through Jason Michael Bentley’s collection of train sight paintings. Created in watercolour, these hazy impressions capture fleeting views glimpsed on journeys across the country.

Each small composition is guided by a distinctive seasonal colour palette, reflecting the changing landscapes and light of Scotland throughout the year. From soft spring tones to the deeper hues of autumn and winter, every painting evokes its own mood and atmosphere. A quiet moment observed from the window of a moving train.

‘Train Sights’ is four of six artworks featured in our Summer Showcase 2026 by Jason Michael Bentley.

For anyone who missed the show, don’t worry! Throughout August, we’ll be sharing the work featured in the exhibition, giving you the chance to discover each piece from the comfort of home.

In early summer, the ScotlandArt team paid a visit to artist Claire Kennedy in her home studio in the leafy suburbs of Glasgow.

We are so excited to announce our upcoming summer exhibition which features a range of new work from artists both familiar and fresh.

Join us on the 1st of August from 6pm till 8pm for the opening night of our exciting Summer Showcase 2026!

Coinciding with Glasgow’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games, the exhibition will celebrate Scotland’s culture from both a local and a global perspective.

We'll also be providing some special drinks and nibbles for our guests on the opening evening.
