The Govan Hogbacks
πΊ The Govan hogbacks are one of the most interesting groupings of early medieval carved stones in the Northern Brittonic world, being produced by a Strathclyde kingdom that seems to come into being as a direct result of the AD 870 Viking capture of the Clyde Britons' former centre ('caput') at Alt Clut (today's Dumbarton Rock, or Fort of the Britons).
