You will receive a warm welcome at our small, family-run site in the idyllic, rural heart of the Tas Valley in the grounds of the Norfolk Tank Museum. The level site caters for up to 5 tourers/motorhomes. All pitches have electric hook-ups and are well-spaced with toilet and shower facilities close by. There is a children's play and picnic area adjacent to the pitches and, during peak season East

er to October 31st, the Museum and its Tea Room/Shop are also open for teas, coffees, light snacks and some essential supplies. The caravan pitches face West to get the full benefit of the outstanding rural views and huge Norfolk sunsets. Immediately next to the pitches is an additional large field for exercising children and pets. From this field there is access to the ‘Tank Museum Trail’ circular footpath, which in turn leads to the ‘Tas Valley Way’ and the ‘Boudicca Way National Trail (36km)’. There are also footpaths to the nearby Saxon churches and to Long Stratton. There are many opportunities for walkers, bird-watchers, and artists to pursue their interests including a look-out/command post tower with amazing rural views. The outlook from the site is over local fields and river marsh. Marsh Harriers, owls and birds of prey can often be seen over the fields, particularly Barn Owls on their nocturnal rounds at dusk. Lots of other wildlife can regularly be seen visiting the site, including hare, deer, and foxes. The local village of Long Stratton is just 1.5 miles from the site and has a Co-Op store, two pubs, one family restaurant and a number of take-away shops which deliver to the site. It also has a doctors’ surgery, chemist and dental practice. For the fishermen amongst you, the Taswood Carp & Coarse Fishing Lakes are a short drive from the site. Forncett St Peter itself is situated centrally between the market towns of Diss, Harleston and Wymondham, with their historic High Streets, small cafes and boutique shops. The city of Norwich is 12 miles away and accessible through public transport as well as a good road network with a Park & Ride facility. It has many attractions including its Norman Castle, medieval streets and 11th Century Cathedral, plus restaurants, bars, cinemas and extensive shopping. From the site it is approximately 25 miles to the Norfolk Broads and an hour’s drive to the North Norfolk Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages and its famous Seal population. Many of Norfolk’s renowned stately homes are only an hour’s drive away, including Holkham Hall. As well as the natural wildlife surrounding you, don’t be surprised to see the odd military tank!
