The Barbican Estate in central London, architects Chamberlin, Powell and Bon. 70's Brutalism I know, and the Arts Centre is a gloomy Cavern but hey, the landscaped courts are an oasis away from the noise of the city and it looks like people enjoy living there - all window boxes green and pleasant. Walkways in the air with links to the Museum of London and beyond. Buildings and and pathways laid out on mutiple layers and levels - quite quite brilliant.

I'm working with a group called Durham Free School at present. Trying to establish a new secondary school to serve the residents of areas to the south of Durham. Does anyone know of any suitable, sizeable buildings/land in the Bowburn, Coxhoe, Shincliffe vicinity that could accommodate a school?
