The number three to Johnston Avenue is pictured at the stop outside the R. Kirkpatrick & Company's electrical store in Meadowside in 1976. At this time the bus service was operated by Tayside Regional Transport.

In August 1953, Dundee Works Committee decided to make it easier for pedestrians to cross the Victoria Road between the Hilltown and the Wellgate. The plan was to construct a pedestrian tunnel costing around £11,000, however it never came to fruition. This photograph shows where the tunnel was to be located.
