Christmas Tree Festivals We love Christmas Tree Festivals and want to tell everyone how fantastic they are and share CTF stories, information and advice. We love Christmas Tree Festivals and want to tell everyone how fantastic they are!

They are magical and perfectly capture the sparkle, joy and spirit of Christmas. They are also a great way of bringing communities together and raising money for charity. There are many spectacular Festivals every year across the country but not enough people know about them so we want to spread the word. Through our page you can join our CTF community, swap news, photos and advice, and be inspired.

Mission: To promote Christmas Tree Festivals across the country and create a supportive CTF community.

We are really pleased with the amazing support we had with our 2018 Christmas Tree Festival here at St Columb Major in Cornwall. The Festival took place in the 12 days leading up to Christmas and was very much appreciated by all who visited. A total of £2,636 was raised towards the rewiring and relighting of the church, and a further £305 from the memory star tree for FLEET.

This year's Christmas Tree Festival in the beautifully refurbished St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, promises to be even bigger and more spectacular than ever before. This year's tree lights will be officially switched on at the wine and buffet evening to launch the event on Thursday, November 30th, by the President of homelessness charity Emmaus and former Beirut hostage, Terry Waite CBE. Mr Waite, who officially opened the Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland charity shop in Market Place, Melton Mowbray, in May, spent 1,763 days in captivity, the first four years of which were spent in solitary confinement, in Beirut after trying to negotiate the release of Western hostages in 1987. He became president of Emmaus UK shortly after his release from captivity and said: "We are all one pay cheque away from becoming homeless; it could happen to any one of us. After having spent many years in captivity in Beirut, I understand the importance of helping people get back on their feet and regain their dignity. Emmaus helps those who have found themselves in difficulties to once again find that dignity and confidence and to start to rebuild their lives, in a family, community environment.” Tickets for the wine and buffet evening, which cost £8.50p, will be available in the reception office of the Samworth Centre soon. Months of planning and hard work have gone into this year's Christmas Tree Festival where a mixture of businesses, schools and organisations gather in the church to weave their magic and try to create new and original themes for their trees. The event is now in its fifteenth year and this year's event runs from Friday, December 1st until Tuesday, December 5th. Each year our beautiful church is transformed with hundreds of decorated trees from individuals and businesses in the area and people come from far and wide to see the spectacle. Some of last year's unusual entries included an 8ft high gabled pyramid tree by Melton firm HHSP Architects, a tree made out of beds by Sysonby Knoll Hotel and a tree made from a welded steel structure with individual hand cut sheet metal leaves, made by Melton firms Lee and Cooke Roofing Ltd and Melton Flashings Ltd. *To find out more about last year's event and to view pictures click on the link below: https://www.melton.leicester.anglican.org/Articles/457715/St_Marys_C/What_we_do/Community_Events_Everyone/Christmas_Tree_Festival/A_record_breaking.aspx Complete Christmas Tree Festival Programme Friday, 1st December - 9.00am: Church open to the public.
