The Brynmawr Museum and Historical Society are very pleased to announce that they have been awarded £21k to produce a short educational film on the life and achievements of Roy Francis. The film is aimed primarily at young people as an example of what with hard work and determination great things can be achieved.
In telling this story the Heritage of Brynmawr will play a big part in the film and will show what life was like in the 1920/30s.
The Museum has many photographs of the town of Brynmawr but very little moving footage. If anyone has any old cine footage of the Town and particularly the swimming pool, where Roy won many awards, loan of it would be appreciated.
We would also like to hear from any of the older generation who could talk about Brynmawr in their childhood or stories from their parents or grandparents.
Thank-you

The talk will be given by Ben Price and is entitled "Voice of 1842. Child Labour in the South Wales Coalfields".
Promises to be a very interesting evening.
