🚨 Last chance to see the Peel P50 at Brighton Toy and Model Museum! 🚗✨

After an amazing extended stay at the Brighton Toy Museum, the Peel P50 will leave us for good next Wednesday, January 29th. Originally set to depart last autumn, we've been fortunate to have this iconic microcar with us since March last year – far longer than expected!

If you haven’t yet had the chance to see this incredible piece of automotive history up close, now’s the time! You have one week to visit the museum and say goodbye to the world’s smallest car before it drives off (very slowly!) to its next destination.

Don’t miss out – come by, snap some photos, and bid farewell to the Peel P50 before it’s gone for good!

One unforgettable moment from 2024 was capturing Chris’s rare (and legendary) locomotive impressions on video when the team from Forward to the Past visited our museum! 🚂🎤 His talent for recreating the sounds of trains had everyone in awe!

If you missed it, don’t worry – the full 45-minute video is up on YouTube for your enjoyment. Trust us, it’s worth the watch! 🎥

Looking back on the year, one standout moment has to be when Chris brought out his incredible collection of rare Meccano tins at the Brighton Toy Museum! 🛠️✨ It was such a treat to see these beautifully preserved pieces of history up close and hear Chris share his passion and knowledge with everyone.

Moments like these remind us why we love what we do – celebrating the stories, craftsmanship, and creativity behind these treasures. 💛

✨ Today in history: December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers achieved the first controlled, powered, heavier-than-air flight in the Wright Flyer at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Their groundbreaking feat forever changed the course of human transportation and exploration! 🌍✈️

Here at Brighton Toy Museum, we're excited to showcase a stunning 1:32-scale model of the Wright Flyer, created by Corgi Classics in 2003 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of this monumental achievement. With a 15-inch wingspan and impeccable detailing, this model beautifully captures the pioneering spirit of the Wright brothers. 🛩️✨

Whether you're a history buff, an aviation enthusiast, or just love unique collectables, this piece is a must-see! Drop by the museum to admire it up close and take a moment to appreciate the incredible strides humanity has made since that chilly December morning in 1903. 🌬️💫

🚂 On this day, December 16th, 1653, Oliver Cromwell took charge as Lord Protector of England, marking a pivotal moment in history! While Cromwell’s legacy is debated, here at Brighton Toy Museum, we’re celebrating a different kind of power: steam power!

Our working coal-fired 1:12 scale steam model of the Oliver Cromwell steam locomotive is a showstopper. Painted in stunning Brunswick green and crafted to perfection by J.W. Airton, this 5-inch gauge marvel is a true exhibition-standard piece of engineering. It’s a nod to the Industrial Age that revolutionized Britain.

🎄And don't worry—Christmas is NOT cancelled here! The museum is all decked out for the holidays, so come visit, soak in the history, and let the magic of steam trains ignite your festive spirit.
