The Carbon Garden . Almost a year ago I was asked to produce the coal seam in the sandstone wall. It took a week to cut a ridge into the stone using a diamond disk on an angle grinder, and then apply kgs of bought from using one of their hardest outdoor, cementitious versions, Paul from and I, troweled the material in and sealed it. In the blistering sun in June 2025. A great fun job and everything went to plan. I am here today to check it’s all holding up to the elements. And I am pleased to say it’s all just as good as the day we made it.

Viscosity Globe: Ghost Glow
Bronze, patina, and frost.

Formed from a molten pour that froze mid-movement — a trace of fluid energy suspended between heat and stillness.
The pale surface crystallises like snow around a radiant core, a remnant of warmth held inside winter’s shell.
Part of the Viscosity Globe series, exploring the thresholds between solid and liquid, entropy and equilibrium.

Silent Ember captures the quiet radiance hidden
within aged forms.
The vessel’s exterior bears a soft, old penny patina
from liver of sulphur, while its interior reveals a
brilliant mirror polish, gleaming like a secret light.
Delicate, flowing lines create an airy, fragile structure
- a frozen gesture of movement and memory.
Silent Ember stands as a testament to resilience and
beauty, where age and brilliance exist side by
side.

Not every moment at an art show is serious… sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself 🤪

Here are a few behind-the-scenes bloopers from Ealing BEAT

Art can be heavy (literally, when it’s bronze!) — but it should always have room for humour and joy.

Which face says “professional sculptor” and which says “I need a stronger coffee”? ☕😂
