What if I told you...Manet's Olympia shocked 19th-century Paris with her bold, unapologetic gaze. Unlike the idealized nudes of classical art, Olympia represented the raw reality of modern life, with a black cat symbolizing her independence. The title? A not-so-subtle reference to Parisian courtesans :P

So, I was inspired by Manet’s Olympia to create one of my very first paper sculptures a few years ago. It’s such a mysterious, melancholic, yet magnificent piece that I’m already feeling the urge to recreate it. What do you think of it? Do you like this painting?
