FREQ: MAPLESS FREQUENCIES - ARTISTS & ARTWORKS
▪️rajatonvimma - For SUMUD is a video work composed of Palestine solidarity photos taken over
the past two years (2023–2025): from demonstrations and events opposing violence against
Palestinians and defending their right to freedom, life, and dignity.
▪️Azar Saiyar - Helsinki-Tehran is a cinematic study on immigration and memory – on the shared
verbal and nonverbal knowledge and emotional understanding which travels with displaced
people from one generation to another.
▪️XS - Cut Off is inspired by the absence of connection and communication between Iran and the
rest of the world during the Mahsa Amini protests and the ongoing civil unrest that began in
September 2022. Constructed from field recordings gathered in Berlin during the protests, the
work also incorporates personal phone calls and voice messages from Iran, alongside fragments
of news broadcasts and protest slogans.
▪️Dora Dalila Cheffi - FINLANDIA reinterprets Finland’s national hymn by Jean Sibelius, translating
it into Tunisian Arabic and performing it in the traditional Mawwal style. This haunting soundscape
is paired with a triptych video installation featuring animated shapes and vibrant colors that echo
Cheffi’s paintings.
