تتوجه أنظار المجتمع الإرشادي المصري اليوم نحو كمبوديا لمتابعة مشاركة الوفد الرسمي لجمهورية مصر العربية في أعمال المؤتمر العالمي التاسع والثلاثين للمرشدات، وهي مشاركة وتمثيل ليس وليد الصدفة، بل هو امتداد طبيعي وخلفية تاريخية وطنية بدأت قبل التأسيس الرسمي للجمعيات الوطنية وقبل حتى صياغة القوانين المنظمة للحركة عالمياً.
إن الوفد المصري الذي يقف اليوم على منصات صناعة القرار الإرشادي الدولي ممثلاً في القيادات المصرية التي تدير المشهد ببراعة وعلي رأسهم القائدة كريستين وجيه المفوضة الدولية و القائدة ياسمين أسامة والقائدة ليلى خضري كما تشارك القائدة منى أمين بصفتها نائبة رئيسة الإقليم العربي و القائدة أمنية سلامة ضمن فريق المترجمات بالمؤتمر والقائدة يوستينا ملاك ضمن فريق الخدمات اونلاين
يحمل في حقيبته إرثاً يمتد لأكثر من قرن من الزمان؛ إرثاً كُتبت أولى صفحاته عام 1924 في إنجلترا بالمخيم العالمي الأول للمرشدات والمؤتمر الثالث المنعقد بفوكسليز (Foxlease)، حيث تشير الوثائق إلى أن الحركة الإرشادية النشطة على أرض مصر في تلك الحقبة المتمثلة في فرق الجاليات الأجنبية بالإسكندرية والقاهرة ومحافظات القناة هي من مثلت مصر بهذه المشاركة، وحرصت تلك الوفود على رفع العلم المصري وتثبيت اسم الدولة جغرافياً وإقليمياً في التقرير الرسمي المطبوع للحدث (The World Camp 1924).
هذا التواجد المعاصر والفاعل في كمبوديا هو صدى مباشر لاستمرار هذا التمثيل الجغرافي المبكر في المؤتمر الرابع عام 1926 بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، حيث يظهر بوضوح في وثيقة التوقيعات التاريخية تسجيل اسم مصر رسمياً في كشوف الحضور، ويتأكد ذلك بصرياً في الصورة الجماعية التي توثق رفع العلم الملكي المصري في صدارة أعلام الدول المشاركة في معسكر إيديث ميسي بنيويورك وهو الوجود المستمر والمتتابع الذي تُوج لاحقاً بالمشاركة المحورية التاريخية لعام 1928 في المجر، والتي شهدت جلسات التأسيس الرسمي للجمعية العالمية للمرشدات وفتيات الكشافة WAGGGS.
إن ما تشهده أروقة المؤتمر العالمي اليوم من تمثيل وطني خالص، وخلفية قانونية ومؤسسية مستقرة للمرشدات المصريات يعود الفضل فيه إلى ذلك التحول الوطني والتاريخي المفصلي الذي شهده مؤتمر بريطانيا عام 1930، وهو ما وثقته الصحافة الأرشيفية في وقتها تحت عنوان "آنسة مصرية تمثل مصر في إنجلترا"؛ حيث سافرت القائدة منيرة صبري للمشاركة، وفوجئت بأن ممثلة مصر الرسمية هي الأميرة الإنجليزية "ماري" (ابنة ملك إنجلترا)، فما كان من منيرة صبري إلا أن اعترضت رسمياً وقدمت الحجج والأدلة القانونية والمستندات التي تفيد أحقيتها هي والآنسات المصريات في تمثيل مرشدات بلادهن، مما أقنع هيئة المؤتمر الدولي وأجبرها على اتخاذ قرار تاريخي بالاعتراف بجمعيتين للمرشدات على أرض مصر جمعية المرشدات الأجنبيات في مصر، وجمعية المرشدات المصرية الوطنية.
بين محطات 1924 و1930 التاريخية، وبين الحضور المصري الحالي القوي الذي يرفع اسم مصر اليوم في كمبوديا 2026، يتجلى الخط الزمني المتصل للريادة فالمعارك القانونية والوطنية التي خاضتها الرائدات الأوائل لتمصير الحركة وحفظ صفتها السيادية والجغرافية، هي التي مهدت الطريق لتستمر مرشدات مصر اليوم في صياغة مستقبل الحركة الإرشادية العالمية بكامل سيادتهن وهويتهن الوطنية، مسلحات بتاريخ أرشيفي موثق يثبت أن مصر لم تكن يوماً مجرد عضو ثانوي في هذه الحركة، بل شريك أصيل في صياغتها وتأسيسها منذ اللحظات الأولى
Today, the eyes of the Egyptian guiding community are turned toward Cambodia to follow the participation of the official delegation of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the 39th WAGGGS World Conference. This participation and representation is by no means a coincidence; rather, it is a natural extension and a profound national historical background that began before the official establishment of national associations and even before the drafting of the laws governing the movement globally.
The Egyptian delegation standing today on the platforms of international guiding decision-making—represented by the Egyptian leaders who masterfully and prominently manage the scene, led by Commander Christeen Wagih (International Commissioner), Commander Yasmine Osama, and Commander Laila Khodary, along with the participation of Commander Mona Amin in her capacity as Vice-Chairman of the Arab Regional Committee, Commander Omnia Salama within the conference translation team, and Commander Justina Malak within the online services team—carries in its briefcase a heritage extending for more than a century; a heritage whose very first pages were written in 1924 in England at the First World Girl Guide Camp and the Third International Conference held in Foxlease. Documents indicate that the active guiding movement on Egyptian soil at that time, represented by the foreign community companies in Alexandria, Cairo, and the Canal Governorates, was what represented Egypt in this participation. These delegations ensured that the Egyptian flag was raised and the country's name was geographically and regionally established in the official printed report of the event (The World Camp 1924).
This contemporary and impactful presence in Cambodia is a direct echo of the continuity of this active representation in the Fourth International Conference in 1926 in the United States of America. It is clearly demonstrated in the historical signature document, which records Egypt's name officially in the attendance logs, and is visually confirmed in the group photograph documenting the raising of the Egyptian Royal Flag at the forefront of the flags of the participating countries at Camp Edith Macy in New York. This continuous and successive presence was later crowned by the historic, pivotal participation of 1928 in Hungary, which witnessed the official founding sessions of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
The pure national representation and the stable legal and institutional background of the Egyptian Girl Guides witnessed in the corridors of the World Conference today are credited to that monumental national and historical turning point at the 1930 conference in Britain. This was documented by the archival press at the time under the headline "An Egyptian Young Lady Represents Egypt in England," when Commander Mounira Sabry traveled to participate and was surprised to find that Egypt's official representative was the English Princess "Mary" (daughter of the King of England). Commander Mounira Sabry officially objected and presented legal arguments, evidence, and documents proving her right and that of the Egyptian young ladies to represent the girl guides of their country. This convinced the International Conference Board and compelled it to take a historic decision recognizing two separate girl guide associations on Egyptian soil: the Foreign Girl Guides Association in Egypt, and the National Egyptian Girl Guides Association.
Between the historic milestones of 1924 and 1930, and the current strong Egyptian presence raising Egypt's name today in Cambodia 2026, a continuous timeline of leadership unfolds. The legal and national battles fought by the early pioneers to Egyptianize the movement and preserve its sovereign and geographical character are what paved the way for Egypt's girl guides today to continue shaping the future of the global guiding movement with full sovereignty and national identity, armed with a documented archival history proving that Egypt was never a secondary member in this movement, but an authentic partner in its formulation and establishment from the very first moments.
