Terry’s latest work (2026) is influenced by the elegance and drama of classic pulp noir comics, blended with abstraction and raw expressionism.
Drawing from the romantic imagery of the 1920s through the 1940s, the paintings feature men and women in cocktail attire, caught in quiet moments of beauty, tension, and mystery.
Alongside themes of deception, abandonment, loneliness, and hopelessness, the work also explores love, desire, intimacy, and the need for human connection. Through distorted figures, expressive brushwork, and cinematic compositions, Terry creates scenes that feel both nostalgic and unsettling, inviting the viewer into a world where romance, elegance, heartbreak, and longing all exist side by side.
