We’re delighted to introduce an artist whose work is well worth watching: Chris Succo.
He is a graduate of both the Düsseldorf Art Academy and London’s Royal College of Art, and in our opinion, a true master of abstraction.
Today on Artflash, we are showcasing his compelling screen print ‚Three Screens‘.

Once again, we’re pleased to present two works by British artist David Shrigley. His signature style: raw, ironic, yet surprisingly empathetic is clearly reflected in the two linocuts we’re showcasing today. The works Gift (2022) and F**k F**k … Sorry … (2024) invite us to face the challenges of everyday life with a sense of humor, no matter how dark it may be.

On artflash today, the artist Georges Braque lets two birds take flight—one in black, the other vividly colored in blue. However, the title of the color lithograph, “Soleil et lune II” (“Sun and Moon II”), does not refer to the birds, but to the sun (“soleil”) and the full moon (“lune”) visible in the background. Is night merely falling, or is Braque inviting us to explore a deeper narrative?

GEORGES BRAQUE
Soleil et lune II, 1959
Color lithograph on smooth wove paper
38 x 28 cm (14.96 x 11.02 in)

We’re also pleased to present a work by Polish artist Karolina Orzelek (b. 1992). In her 2023 lithograph, she takes us deep into an enchanted forest with two empty chairs nestled in between. Color is central to Orzelek’s work. Inspired by Post-Impressionists and David Hockney, her art blends reality and imagination.

Annette Hauschild, born in 1969 in Gießen, moved to Berlin at the age of 19 and began her career as a photographer during the vibrant years following reunification. With her camera, she witnessed Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s monumental wrapping of the Reichstag — an event that inspired her series “Die Letzte Nacht”.

We are delighted to present three photographs from this series today on artflash. The works are also available as a complete set.

Gideon Mendel, born in South Africa in 1959, became aware of the injustices of apartheid early on and developed into what he calls a „visual activist.“
His 1986 photograph shows two people waiting — separated by gaze, skin color, and system.
It is fortunate that this powerful testimony can now be reinterpreted in the light of the Black Lives Matter movement.

We are delighted to present to you today a special artwork by Klaus Mettig: the limited and signed photograph “N.Y. 2004 #9 (LIONS).”

The photograph captures a street scene that throws us right into the everyday life of New York in 2004. The artist’s approach—his desire for the images to also encompass what happens beyond their frames—is fully realized here. As a result, the work conveys a powerful sense of authenticity.
