Philip Wallisfurth - Senor Schnu Www.wallisfurth.com Bereits seit 2007 ist der Künstler Philip Wallisfurth alias Senor Schnu in Deutschland und der Welt unterwegs.

Seine Arbeiten umfassen ein breites Spektrum von klassischen Paste-Ups über Moos-Graffitis, Skulpturen und Malereien auf Leinwand, im Stil zwischen Comic und Abstrakt, gerne mit popkulturellen Anleihen. Liegen seine Wurzeln in der Straßenkunst, so ist Wallisfurths Medium vor allem die Sprühdose. Seinen Stil kennzeichnet aber auch seine Flexibilität in punkto Materialwahl und künstlerische Ausdruck

sweise: Er experimentiert zum Beispiel seit einiger Zeit schon mit eindrucksvollen, anamorphen Rauminstallationen. Er selbst definiert seinen Stil als einen ambivalenten Mix aus „dirty“ Graffiti- bzw. Street Art- Techniken und „cleanen“ grafischen Elementen, wie man sie in der zeitgenössischen Kunst findet. Eine andere Besonderheit ist auch sein Umgang mit Farben, die von starken Kontrasten und positiver Energie leben und beim Betrachter ein Gefühl von „Instant- Happiness“ auslösen. Generell ist es ihm wichtig, dass der Betrachter ein Teil des Kunstwerks wird und mit ihm interagieren kann, wie beispielsweise bei einer anamorphen Rauminstallation, die betreten werden kann oder durch die Identifikation mit Characters wie dem fröhlich lachenden Eis namens Senor Schnu. Der Künstler organisiert und kuratiert nebenbei in und außerhalb der Szene bekannte Projekte wie zum Beispiel „Wandelism“, „Hometown Berlin“ oder das Paste-Up-Festival Germany von der Idee bis zur Umsetzung. Philip Wallisfurth steht nie still und ist immer auf der Suche nach dem nächsten spannenden Projekt. So war er beispielsweise im Herbst 2019 mit einer anamorphen Rauminstallation Teil der Ausstellung „Ride the Dragon“ in Shanghai, die vom Skateboard- Museum organisiert und kuratiert wurde. Außerdem gestaltete er die Fassade des Urban Nation Museums für Urban Contemporary Art in Berlin. Er kann außerdem Porsche, Jack Daniels, Google und Vans zu seinen Kunden zählen, um nur einige zu nennen.

.tv Xenius – Moos-Graffiti
Erstausstrahlung: 03.03.2020.

Mit Moos als künstlerischem Material beschäftige ich mich bereits seit 2005 und gehöre damit zu den frühen Pionieren von Moos-Graffiti im deutschen Urban-Art-Bereich. Über die Jahre sind daraus ganz unterschiedliche Arbeiten entstanden, von kleinen Interventionen bis zu einem 8 × 8 Meter großen Kunstwerk aus Moos und Joghurt für eine deutschlandweite Jack Daniel’s Kampagne.

Für Xenius durfte ich damals zeigen, wie ich mit Moos arbeite und was dieses ungewöhnliche Material im urbanen Raum möglich macht.

Behind the scenes in Schwäbisch Hall.

These amazing photos by my friend Lukas K Stiller show a part of the work that usually stays invisible.

The project was created in November, in freezing temperatures and constant wind. After hours outside, your hands get so cold that even controlling a spray can becomes difficult.

Hundreds of meters of tape for clean lines, covering and protecting surfaces, barriers, preparation, equipment, paint all the things that are necessary before the final artwork can exist.

For me, this is also an important part of the process: not only the finished tunnel, but everything that happens around it.

The project was commissioned by Deutsche Bahn and Stadt Schwäbisch Hall and realized in collaboration with Metropolink Festival Heidelberg.

“TRANSPARENCE POURPRE ESSENTIELLE”

Part of my ESSENTIEL series where I explore reduction.

Different materials and translucent layers overlap, creating depth while allowing parts of what lies underneath to remain visible. The pourpre tones move between purple, red and burgundy, giving the work both warmth and intensity.

The ESSENTIEL series is about reducing my visual language to its core: colour, form, transparency and balance.

„PERSPECTIVE OF NOW“
IBUG 2022, Flöha, Germany

For .art Festival 2022, I created a series of six anamorphic installations inside a former coloured-paper factory in Flöha.

The starting point came directly from the place itself: huge amounts of neon red paper were still scattered throughout the abandoned factory. I took this strong visual trace of its industrial past and translated it into a series of geometric interventions across walls, floors, staircases and architectural details.

From one specific viewpoint, the distorted shapes come together and form a clear image. Move away from that point, and the composition breaks apart again.

This is what interests me about working with existing architecture: a space does not need to be clean, empty or conventionally beautiful to become part of an artwork. Difficult corners, staircases, corridors, abandoned rooms or architectural elements that might initially seem impossible to use can become exactly what makes a work unique.

For festivals, public art projects and temporary spaces, this creates almost endless possibilities. I don’t just place an artwork inside a location, I use the location itself as part of the artwork.

Every space has potential. Sometimes it just needs a different perspective.

Was wäre, wenn man nicht nur vor einem Kunstwerk steht, sondern selbst Teil davon wird?

Genau darum geht es bei meinen anamorphen Installationen.

Dieses Projekt ist für den entstanden. Die komplette Installation wurde eigens für das Event aus Holz gebaut und anschließend von mir so gestaltet, dass sich Raum, Flächen und einzelne Elemente aus einem bestimmten Blickwinkel zu einem Bild verbinden.

Und genau hier wird es für mich spannend: Je mehr vom Raum einbezogen wird, desto stärker kann die Wirkung werden. Wände, Boden, Decke, Sitzmöglichkeiten, Podeste oder andere Elemente können Teil des Kunstwerks und gleichzeitig Teil der Interaktion werden.

So entsteht nicht einfach nur eine bemalte Fläche, sondern ein besonderer Ort und ein besonderer Moment, etwas, das Menschen entdecken, betreten, fotografieren und weitergeben möchten.

Ich kann mir solche Arbeiten besonders gut vorstellen für Events, Festivals, Messen, Marken, Unternehmen, Hotels, Kulturinstitutionen, Hochzeiten, Jubiläen, Produktpräsentationen, Eröffnungen oder öffentliche Räume. Farben, Logos, Themen oder Geschichten können dabei Teil des Konzepts werden, ohne dass die künstlerische Qualität verloren gehen muss.

Gerade wenn etwas Besonderes gefeiert, eröffnet oder sichtbar gemacht werden soll, kann so ein Raum aus einem normalen Ort ein echtes Erlebnis machen.

Und in einer Zeit, in der wir jeden Tag immer mehr perfekte, KI-generierte Bilder sehen, finde ich echte Orte, echte Interaktion und Momente, die man nur vor Ort erleben kann, umso wertvoller.

Solche Projekte würde ich sehr gerne noch viel öfter realisieren.

Wenn ihr beim Anschauen direkt an ein Unternehmen, ein Event, eine Location, eine Agentur oder jemanden denkt, für den so etwas passen könnte: Schickt dieses Reel gerne weiter. Vielleicht entsteht genau dadurch der nächste besondere Ort.

100 photos. 100 moments. But only a small part of the story.

Artworks, walls, tunnels, exhibitions, travels, workshops, commissions, people, friendships and unforgettable experiences.

This is the part you see.

What you usually don’t see is probably 90% of being a full-time artist: emails, invoices, planning, social media, travelling from A to B and back again, rejected ideas, projects that never happen, difficult conversations, uncertainty, frustration and constantly looking for the next opportunity.

The actual freedom to simply create? Maybe 10%.

What you see here is just the tip of the iceberg.

But these 100 moments also remind me why I keep doing it.

I really appreciate everyone who has been part of this journey every friend, client, festival, supporter and every person who has trusted my work, helped me along the way or simply shared a few kind words.

None of this happens alone.

Do you think these three circles are the same size?
Most people don’t.

In reality, all three circles are identical. They only appear different because of perspective. From one specific viewpoint, they align perfectly. Move just a few steps, and the illusion disappears. It’s all a matter of perspective.

This anamorphic installation was created for in collaboration with transforming a plain corridor into an interactive experience where guests become part of the artwork.

I love creating spaces that invite people to stop, explore and interact turning everyday places into memorable moments.

RESTSPANNUNG — IBUG 2026, Riesaart

The making of a 100 m² walk-in reverse anamorphosis created across eight rooms of a former transformer house. Instead of painting the central form, I transformed the surrounding space in ultramarine blue, leaving the original surfaces untouched and visible.

The title RESTSPANNUNG refers both to the building’s former function and to the energy of the place that remains present in its original surfaces.

IBUG was everything an art festival should be: artistic freedom, trust and incredible support. Thank you to the entire team for creating an environment where artists can experiment, take risks and develop their ideas without limits. It was a real pleasure to be part of it.

Creating moments is more than painting walls. It is about changing how people experience a place.

In 2021, I transformed the entrance and two floors of the John Reed Fitness Club in Levallois, Paris into one connected artwork. Using spray paint and wall paint, I worked freely, guided by intuition and energy. Bright colors became movement, motivation and a space people wanted to experience, photograph and share.

I believe the best projects happen when artists are trusted with an entire space. That freedom creates places people remember not only because they look different, but because they make them feel something.
