Berlin Art Week is in full swing — and today at 4 pm, we’re slowing things down for a moment.

Join us for drinks and an Artist Talk with Kane Calì & Madeleine Fenwick around a question that concerns all of us:

How do we find balance in a world that seems increasingly out of balance? And what can art contribute — does it help us regain stability, or does it teach us to live with instability?

SEE/SAW
Today, 4 pm at AOA;87.
Sophienstr. 5, 10178 Berlin
Come by.

Join us on Thursday, 10 September 2026, from 6–9 pm for the opening of SEE / SAW, a two-gallery, two-artist exhibition presented by AOA;87 contemporary and R Contemporary on the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2026.

Bringing together newly produced works by Madeleine Fenwick and Kane Calì, the exhibition approaches balance not as a fixed state, but as a continuous negotiation between opposing forces. Across sculpture, material and perception, SEE / SAW asks what it means to remain upright within structures defined by instability.

As part of the accompanying programme for SEE / SAW, we are pleased to welcome Berlin-based Mexican artist and musician Nahum for a performance night during Berlin Art Week 2026.

The evening is a live performance blending mentalism and theremin to explore the relationship between observation, measurement, and reality. Through music, words, and hands-on experiments, Nahum invites the audience to question what can truly be measured, who is observing, and how our position shapes what we perceive.

His practice spans media that unsettle perception and reframe our relationship to the universe. He is the founder of the KOSMICA Institute, an organisation dedicated to the cultural discourses surrounding space activities and their impact on Earth.

For this year’s ENTER ART FAIR, we are presenting works by Hendrik Czakainski from 27–30 August at Booth 63.

Hendrik Czakainski creates large-scale wall sculptures and installations from materials including wood, cardboard, MDF, metal powders and paint. Viewed from a distance, his works recall dense urban structures and infrastructural networks; up close, layered surfaces, fractures and compressions come into focus.

Oscillating between architectural order and material disintegration, Czakainski translates processes of growth, decay and transformation into complex sculptural reliefs. His imaginary urban topographies present architecture not as something permanent, but as a vulnerable system shaped by pressure, accumulation and continuous change.

The work CORR-X #2 was created specifically for the Enter Art Fair 2026.

As part of our presentation at this year’s ENTER ART FAIR, we are showing works by Holger Schmidhuber from 27–30 August at Booth 63.

Holger Schmidhuber is a German multimedia artist and professor of time-based media at Hochschule Mainz. Working across painting, photography, design and music, he develops his practice in interconnected cycles, each grounded in extensive research and experimentation. Appropriation, transformation and improvisation are central to his approach, through which painting becomes a dynamic and performative process.

In his INTERGHOSTS series, photographic images from an extensive personal archive are printed onto aluminium composite panels and overlaid with translucent layers of varnish, pigment and glass particles. Moving between photographic precision and painterly dissolution, the works shift with the light and the viewer’s changing position.

Introducing Noriko Ambe as part of our group presentation at ENTER ART FAIR, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at Booth 63.

Since 1999, Ambe has developed her ongoing series Works of Linear Actions through the repeated acts of drawing, cutting and layering paper. Working entirely by hand, she allows subtle distortions to remain within each line, transforming the physical movement of her hand into an accumulation of time.

Layer by layer, forms emerge that recall waves, geological strata, canyons and shorelines without representing a specific place. Her works exist between drawing and sculpture, fragility and physical presence, form and void—exploring the evolving relationship between humanity, nature and time.
