Joey Ramone, 1980.

Here‘s Joey at Chateau Neuf in Oslo, Norway, welcoming his disciples to the show - August 30, 1980.

This first ever Ramones concert in Norway‘s capital city turned into a riot. Fans stormed the stage and forced the band to stop the show about 35 minutes into their set.

Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Marky waited for things to cool down, returned on stage, played two more songs and called it a day.

It took the band ten years to return to Oslo, playing a full set at The Voice.

Ramones, 1978.

Here‘s Joey, Dee Dee, Johnny and Marky at Excelsior Hotel in West-Berlin, September 12, 1978.

After starting their European tour in Finland and Sweden, the Ramones arrived in Germany, playing their first ever shows in Hamburg and West-Berlin.

For Dee Dee, the Berlin date marked his return to old stompong grounds, as he lived in the Zehlendorf district between 1963 and 1966. His grandmother Luzie lived on the other side of the wall, in the Mitte district of East Berlin.

Joey & Dee Dee Ramone, 1977.

Here‘s Joey and Dee Dee at Jarlateatern in Stockholm, Sweden, May 15, 1977.

It was the first Ramones show in Sweden on their first ever tour of mainland Europe. And it was a good day for Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee, Tommy and their crew: They finally got to eat food they knew (Hamburgers). And the show was sold out, too.

Dee Dee borrowed a Rickenbacker Bass as a back up. He can be seen using it in this photo - also published in the great book „Ramones i Sverige“.

Joey Ramone, Campino, Richard Manitoba & Hilly Kristal, 1989.

Here‘s Joey with the singer from Germany’s Arena Rock group Die Toten Hosen outside CBGB, hanging with Dictators frontman „Handsome Dick“ Manitoba and CBGB patron Hilly Kristal - kindly welcoming the next generation of customers to his venue.

Shortly before, Joey had inteoduced Campino to his favorite downtown hot spots, including the old Ritz, the Cat Club and CBGB of course.

While in New York, Campino invited Joey to join Die Toten Hosen for their version of „Blitzkrieg Bop“, released on the album „Learning English Lesson One“ in 1991.

Footage from the event was later broadcast on German TV Show „Offbeat“. Check our reels for the video.

Dee Dee Ramone, 2001.

Here‘s a happy Dee Dee in Stockholm, April 2, 2001, after two weeks on the road across Europe with Chase Manhattan on drums and Christian Black on guitar. Later that evening, him and his band would perform at Mango Rockbar.

Dee Dee played his final date of this tour in Utrecht, Netherlands, April 15, 2001 - Easter Sunday, the day his former bandmate Joey Ramone passed away in New York.
