18TH INTERNATIONAL TRIENNIAL OF TEXTILE ART — FINAL DAYS

As the exhibition approaches its final days, time becomes more tangible. What began as an opening moment—shared with many voices and presences—now moves toward closure.

On view until Sunday, April 12, the Triennial brings together works that continue to resonate through space, material, and dialogue. Among them, COURAGE NOT TO FIGHT, 2024, by Alexandre Liberato remains part of this collective environment.

Gratitude for the opportunity to be included in this context, and for all those who have engaged with the work along the way. It is a privilege to be present as the exhibition reaches its final moment.

Visitors on the last day are warmly welcomed.

Following the presentation of BLACK PAGES, this post brings together a selection of exhibition views presenting Guy Vording’s work across recent contexts.

Recent presentations include Art on Paper, Brussels (2024), Art Rotterdam — Main Section (2021), and Het Uur Blauw at Black Swan Gallery, Bruges (2024), in collaboration with galerie dudokdegroot.

On view from March 26 to 29, 2026, Vording’s work is presented in a solo presentation with galerie dudokdegroot at Drawing Now Paris, held at Carreau du Temple. The presentation continues his exploration of absence, reduction, and the tension between visibility and concealment.

GUY VORDING — BLACK PAGES

Guy Vording completed an art residency in Berlin in April 2025. During a studio visit at that time, he introduced his working process in depth and shared a catalogue from which the works presented here were selected.

In the ongoing series BLACK PAGES, Vording works with post-war issues of Life magazine, carefully erasing large parts of image and text through meticulously applied layers of black graphite. Through reduction and concealment, the original page is transformed into a restrained field of fragments and silences.

Loneliness, disappearance, and the tension between outer appearance and inner reality recur throughout the series. By removing rather than adding, Vording constructs images that hover between photography and drawing, revealing the psychological undertow beneath the surface.

The works reflect a practice grounded in precision, control, and a sustained investigation of absence as form.

DEAD FATHERS, SONS AND BROTHERS (2024)
and HANGING CONNECTIONS (2025)

Two works currently on view at STUDIO/GALLERY, Berlin–Friedrichshain.

Installed in dialogue, these pieces reflect on inheritance, rupture, and the fragile bonds that shape masculine identity. Between weight and suspension, presence and absence, the works unfold as quiet structures of memory — where what is held together is as significant as what threatens to fall apart.

On view by appointment.

A closer look at the painting practice of Natthapong Samakkaew.

The first images present MEDITATIVE TRACES (2025), a series of 36 watercolor works on paper. These intimate sheets trace moments of pause and repetition, where gesture becomes a quiet form of attention.

The following images introduce recent paintings on paper and canvas, developed from the artist’s live drawings. Using these spontaneous drawings as a point of departure, Samakkaew experiments with acrylic paste, allowing movement and intuition to translate into layered surfaces. As the artist notes, this marks the beginning of a new chapter in his artistic journey—one where drawing expands into material presence.

LOST TRANSMISSIONS VII, 2020
102 × 72 cm

This series brings together fragmented body images, digitally layered as if capturing stills from an unplanned choreography. Movements overlap and interrupt one another, creating compositions where gesture replaces narrative and the body becomes a shifting structure rather than a fixed subject.

The works originate from inkjet prints on paper that are subsequently deconstructed, reassembled, and reworked with acrylics. Emerging from deep black backgrounds, the bodily forms appear suspended between presence and disappearance. While this phase carries a subtle surreal quality, it remains closely connected to Liberato’s broader practice: an ongoing investigation into how bodies, identities, and emotions are shaped, fragmented, and reconfigured by invisible social and psychological structures.

Here, the body is not portrayed as an image to be decoded, but as a site of instability—where construction and erosion, intimacy and distance, coexist in a state of constant tension.
