Branch # 56 Sherbrooke NS

Branch # 56 Sherbrooke NS Royal Canadian Legion The Legion building is situated within the Sherbrooke Village Museum and was used by the museum as the Temperance Hall until 2018.

Our meeting room is located in the basement of the building and is accessible to the public during open hours. We received our Charter on November 2, 1937 and are one of only two "dry" Legions in Canada. As our building was originally the Temperance Hall, (built in 1893), it was decided it should remain alcohol free. That's not to say you can't get a liquor license for your event! Our cenotaph is

located on our property behind the Presbyterian Church. It was originally designed by Earl Jewers, and later modified by Owen Kingwell when it was moved to its present location. Before Covid 19 we met on the third Wednesday of each month, with the exception of July, August and December. Hopefully we will soon be back to our regular schedule!
