Photography is more than just pointing a camera and clicking—it’s about seeing the world differently, capturing moments, and expressing your creativity. About The Author

sive background in building and renovating, each endeavor has been a testament to my commitment to translating ideas into tangible, livable forms. Beyond the architectural realm, photography has emerged as a well-rounded passion, serving as a means to capture and immortalize the nuanced beauty inherent in our surroundings. Through the lens of my camera, I strive to encapsulate moments that transcend the ordinary, offering a visual narrative that goes beyond the immediate and taps into the essence of the subject matter. Recently, I have ventured into the realm of literary creation, exploring diverse forms of expression ranging from poems and songs to screenplays and full-length books. This foray into the written word serves as a natural extension of my creative pursuits, allowing me to weave narratives that evoke emotions, stir imaginations, and offer new perspectives. One particular source of inspiration for my writing endeavors has been my avid interest in collecting firearm replicas. This fascination with meticulously crafted replicas has ignited the spark for a specific book project, delving into the rich tapestry of history, innovation, and cultural significance woven into these iconic firearms. Through this exploration, I aim to bring forth a narrative that not only pays homage to the craftsmanship of these replicas but also sheds light on the broader historical contexts in which they have played a pivotal role. In essence, my multifaceted journey encompasses architecture, design, photography, and now, the written word. Each facet contributes to a rich tapestry of creative expression, driven by an unwavering passion to explore and share the stories that shape our world.

Gallery Copy:
A masterclass in prairie minimalism and quiet drama.

On a crystalline −15 °C morning, dozens of Canada geese gather in perfect formation on the barely-frozen surface of Wascana Lake, their dark silhouettes etched against mirror-smooth ice that reflects the pale winter sky. In the distance, Regina’s modest skyline rises above a fringe of leafless trees, an understated reminder that wilderness and city share the same breath here.

Shot with a long telephoto lens on digital, the image is ruthlessly clean: razor-sharp detail, cool Nordic colour grading, and a hushed tonal range that feels like stepping into absolute silence. The style sits somewhere between the contemplative precision of Pentti Sammallahti and the cool-toned cinematic stillness of Todd Hido’s winterscapes, yet remains unmistakably Saskatchewan.

You feel the bite of cold air on your cheeks, the fragile creak of new ice underfoot, and the strange comfort of watching wild creatures carry on as if the city behind them doesn’t exist.

There is tension, serenity, and a touch of the surreal all at once. How it shows off in a space:

Printed large (60–80" wide) on matte fine-art paper or face-mounted to acrylic, the image becomes an icy portal that cools and calms an entire room.

The extreme horizontal composition and muted palette make it perfect for over a credenza, above a sofa, or as the anchoring piece in a corporate boardroom.

Its cool restraint flatters warm wood tones, concrete, leather, and steel; guests instinctively lower their voices when they notice it.

I would be grateful for your help in promoting my first photo zine, Heartbeat of a City. This project means a great deal to me, and sharing it with a wider audience is something I cannot do alone.
After five decades of photographing streets, faces, and fleeting moments, I have brought together a collection that reflects the quiet pulse of urban life. This zine grew from long walks, patient observation, and a desire to capture the small but meaningful moments that shape a city. It is my way of listening to its rhythm and expressing that feeling through light, shadow, and texture.
These photographs are not about perfect skylines. They are about unguarded seconds that often pass unnoticed. A reflection in a puddle. A brief connection between strangers. A street corner that holds a story only for a heartbeat. These are the moments that remind me a city is alive and that its energy comes from the people who move through it every day.
Heartbeat of a City gathers the images that stayed with me, the ones that carried a quiet truth. If you know anyone who appreciates thoughtful photography or meaningful visual storytelling, I would be honoured if you shared this work with them.

This photograph captures a quiet pulse of urban life in Regina’s downtown. Three women stride with purpose past a glass façade that mirrors both their movement and the stillness within: empty café tables, soft light, and quiet reflections. The contrast between interior calm and exterior energy creates a layered visual story about transition, ambition, and connection. The muted evening tones and mirrored surfaces lend the scene a cinematic feel, where routine becomes remarkable.
The image evokes a sense of grounded energy, an appreciation for human presence within the geometry of modern architecture. It makes me feel both calm and inspired, like pausing for breath after a busy day while still feeling the hum of life around me.
In the home, this piece would look best in a living room, hallway, or home office where movement, reflection, and thought come together. Its balance of light and shadow adds depth without overwhelming the space, encouraging quiet reflection and conversation. In a professional setting, it would fit well in offices, conference rooms, or waiting areas, suggesting confidence, connection, and the beauty of everyday life. It would also be an excellent addition to a street photography zine or gallery series that celebrates the harmony between architecture and emotion.
This is an image that rewards a second look—the kind that catches your attention not through drama, but through subtle truth
