As part of the 300th anniversary celebrations of the Moulins de l’Île de la Visitation site, the June 20 musical evening delivered an unforgettable cultural experience in the heart of Sault-au-RĂ©collet.

Originally planned as an outdoor event on Île de la Visitation, the performance was relocated to the historic Church of La Visitation thanks to the generosity of the parish and organizers. The venue became a warm, acoustically rich refuge from the storm.

The evening opened with Dominica Merola presenting La MĂ©moire chantĂ©e, accompanied by Pierre Grimard and the Alarica choir. Through carefully curated works, the audience journeyed across eras, bridging New France heritage with today’s cultural diversity, highlighted by a tribute to Louis Riel and a moving rendition of Gens du pays.

The group Kavaz followed with an energetic performance blending Québécois, Irish, Breton, and American influences, ultimately turning the church forecourt into a lively dance space once the weather cleared.

A powerful evening of memory, music, and community, presented under the guidance of Jacques Lebleu (SHAC) and Martin Rodrigue (AVHSR), with Vincent Arseneau as master of ceremonies.

Reflecting on the moment President John F. Kennedy was struck in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963—a pivotal event that has been the subject of extensive research and debate. 📾 The impactful work of analysts like Sherry Fiester, who challenged the official findings of the Warren Commission, adds to the ongoing inquiry surrounding this tragic day. Her analysis of the Zapruder film and the physical reactions observed has opened new discussions on the nature of the fatal shot and the events that unfolded in those critical seconds.

The assassination remains not only a historical milestone but also a catalyst for questions about evidence, perspective, and the complexities of certainty in history.
