Art has a way of slowing us down. It invites us to look a little closer, think a little deeper, and see the world through someone else’s perspective. Sometimes it sparks a new idea, sometimes it asks a question, and sometimes it simply reminds us to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, both “Seen | Unseen” by The October Collective and our Quest Members’ Exhibition, “Abstraction,” are currently on display in our gallery spaces through the first week of July.

Whether you’re an artist, an art lover, or simply curious, we invite you to spend some time exploring these incredible exhibitions.

Quest Art School + Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is always free, and everyone is welcome.

We can’t wait to see you in the Gallery.

We decided to end our Spring Parent + Tot session the only way we know how… with an under water-themed glow-in-the-dark party!

The lights went down, the creativity lit up, and our youngest artists spent the morning exploring, creating, and celebrating a wonderful term together.

A BIG Quest thank you to all of the families who joined us this spring. Watching little imaginations grow (and glow) has been such a joy.

Until next time, Quest kids!

Meet the Team: Lawrence Sagar, Executive Director

If you’ve attended an event, wandered through an exhibition, signed up for a class, pitched a wild idea, or simply stopped by Quest Art School + Gallery over the last few years, chances are you’ve experienced a little bit of Lawrence’s magic.

Lawrence joined Quest in June 2023 and has been running at full speed ever since. With more than 30 years of experience in visual arts programming, teaching, and creative entrepreneurship, he brings an incredible combination of vision, energy, and enthusiasm to everything he does.

A practicing artist himself, Lawrence works across drawing, photography, painting, and illustration. Around Quest, he’s perhaps best known for arriving with an idea, leaving with three more, and encouraging everyone around him to think a little bigger about what Quest can be.

The truth is, much of the momentum, creativity, and excitement you’ll find at Quest today can be traced back to Lawrence’s belief that art should be accessible, engaging, and deeply connected to the community. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his ability to bring people together around big ideas continues to shape what Quest can become.

When he’s not dreaming up the next event, class, or community partnership, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and three children, or proudly guarding one of his most prized possessions: a vintage 1967 comic book rack.

You can look at it...Just don’t touch it. 😉

Help us give a well-deserved shoutout to the man behind so much of the magic and momentum at Quest.

A love of light, nature, and the simple beauty found in everyday moments is at the heart of Melanie’s work. Through her signature square-format, painterly photography, she captures scenes that encourage us to slow down, look a little closer, and appreciate the often-overlooked beauty that surrounds us.

Those images come to life through a collection of thoughtfully crafted products, including prints, handbags, pillows, placemats, coasters, and other unique pieces designed to bring a touch of nature and nostalgia into your home.

Even more inspiring, select MWORDS Photography products help support local charities, extending the impact of each purchase beyond the artwork itself.

On Saturday, June 13th, join us on the second floor of the Midland Cultural Centre during Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival and discover an incredible lineup of local makers, artists, and small businesses, including MWORDS Photography.

You may just find a piece that reminds you of a favourite place, memory, or moment in time.

Let’s be honest… as much as we all love butter tarts, sometimes you need a little palette cleanser.

That’s where comes in.
