Lang Pioneer Village Museum At Lang Pioneer Village Museum, Peterborough County’s history is brought to life. It’s where history is happening!
(270)

Established in 1967, Lang Pioneer Village Museum is an outdoor museum that features 30 restored and recreated buildings typical of a small 19th-century village. Costumed interpreters demonstrate the life and trades of a settler in the 1800’s. Many of the buildings were relocated to the Village from within Peterborough County in order to preserve the region’s history. Lang Pioneer Village nestles t

he shores of the Indian River and boasts a fully-operational Grist Mill, a Weaver Shop which houses one of only a handful authentic Jacquard looms on display in North America and an authentic First Nations encampment. Lang Pioneer Village is the perfect location to retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living and enjoy the pleasures of an era gone by.

Our Facilities Team and Power & Equipment Club were out having a little fun in the sun today! They spent the morning binding wheat with our heritage binder, as we get ready for threshing at Applefest this September. It’s not every day you get to see these old implements still doing exactly what they were built to do! 🌾
