🎨 Important Update: We Need Your Help! 🎨

Our exhibitions at Hamilton Technology Centre have been an incredible success - showcasing amazing local talent and bringing our arts community together in that beautiful atrium space.

But here's the thing: Exhibition No. 5 will be our last unless we find sponsors to keep this vital program going.

We've proven there's huge appetite for arts programming in Hamilton. We just need the right partners to continue building something special together.

DM us if you know potential sponsors or want to help. Let's keep Hamilton's arts scene thriving! 💪

Jill Birks creates spontaneous abstracts by layering, glazing, and scraping to achieve a balance of colour, line, and shape. She incorporates ‘legacy’ paints and inks inherited from an aunt and her mother, which are inspiring. Her works are intuitive with a focus on grounded reflections of summers at Lake Huron, to a deeper consideration of the earth’s natural power and wonder. Onto endless possibilities, while humankind continues our exploration of the universe.

Jill studied literature, then fine art before working as a scenic painter and muralist. Having painted professionally for many years, her commissions reside in casinos, hotels, restaurants and event spaces in Canada and the United States. She left commissioned work to return to personal, evocative abstracts. Jill paints in her home studio in Ancaster.

Jill's work is part of Exhibition No. 5, on until Jun 18.
