The doodle vs. the design ❤️🖌
Let's talk drawings!
Drawing takes time, especially detailed pieces. So what I'll often do is make quick scribbles to show an idea. These are just that, one-minute scribbles!
This allows us to discuss ideas and explore different compositions, quickly
I'll do as many rough scribbles as we need to figure out your composition. You just have to trust the process a little!
Once we've settled on the basic layout, I'll draw it out properly and beautifully, then we'll go over it together again to discuss any changes ❤️
In an automatic world, art is not automatic.
🖌 When do drawings happen?
To stay excited about each day as it comes, I prefer to draw in order of appointments, working through them day by day.
The day or evening before your appointment, I'll sit down somewhere quiet, reread your messages, descriptions and ideas, and start drawing.
If it's a complicated piece, I may send you doodles like these along the way so we can discuss ideas while I'm drawing. Its very helpful if you have as much information in your messages to me as possible about the design we are working on.
If you're someone who needs a little time to think things over, that's okay too! We can make changes and adjustments together, even on the spot.
Working this way keeps the art fresh in my mind, brings my focus to your appointment, and lets me wake up ready and excited to tattoo your design.
Art is like that. It's exciting when it's fresh. ❤️
And if you're a client who prefers to see your design well ahead of time, I'm here for you too! Just let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
It's always okay to ask questions, request changes, and speak up about what feels right for you. I want us both to feel good about the design before we begin 🤍
