Alte Pinsel Fine Art Consultants “alte pinsel” German for “old brushes”

From old brushes to old masters… We are the “alte pinsel” team. Your “alte pinsel” Team

Fine Art – Collectors, Researchers, Consultants, Gallerists, and Educators. It all started with our passion for art, history and travel and over the years we have built a small but splendid collection of mainly 18th and 19th-century paintings. Recently collecting has turned into hunting, hunting for stories behind the brush strokes, beyond the artist, and common knowledge. Through extensive proven

ance research, collaboration with art professionals and analytical researchers across the world, we have uncovered the stories of our paintings piece by piece, brush by brush. The “eye for art” cannot really be explained but it creates an imminent, deep connection and passion to an individual pieces of art. Hope you enjoy following the journey and stories of our paintings.

... Happy Easter ❤️ ✌️ ☮️

"Ride of the Valkyries" is the popular term for the beginning of Act III of Richard Wagner's opera Die Walküre (The Valkyrie), representing the dramatic, roaring flight of Norse warrior-maidens carrying fallen heroes to Valhalla... 😞

Today, we pick up the Neue Pinsel (new brush). Watch as the surreal world of Jason Wheatley sheds its canvas and begins to breathe. This is Swallowing the Sun, reawakened.

Aanikoobijiganag/Generations
An Exhibition by Tanya Cunnington and Bewabon Shilling, with Dora Benson, Annie Kmyta Cunnington, Maria Kmyta, Arthur Shilling, and Cal Shilling
Jan. 5 – Feb 1, 2026

A cold winter morning last Thursday was brightened by the artist talk at the Georgian College Gallery.
Hearing Tanya Cunnington and Bewabon Shilling discuss their creative roots while family home videos played behind them was deeply resonant. It offered an intimate window into the stories behind their art—a narrative that echoes across generations. Thank you both for sharing.
Kudos to the Museum and Gallery Studies students for such a thoughtful curation of legacy and lineage.
