Good morning! I’m looking forward to a very busy weekend for the final days of our EOFY Aboriginal Art Sale, with special pricing on selected works throughout the gallery! It’s been great to meet local residents, and international visitors (from Germany and Dubai to name two!) who have been delighted with their special purchases.
I have a huge selection of paintings in my rear art rooms that are reduced by up to 50% off normal pricing on selected artworks. You can choose from hundreds of paintings – with my smaller paintings from $200, and larger paintings from $900. Eligible businesses may be able to claim an immediate 100% deduction on the instant asset write-off for this financial year. Consult with your independent tax advisor for your individual circumstances.
I am also really happy to share two photos of new pieces by Tony Sorby, who is one of my best-selling artists … and little wonder! Tony’s paintings represent the Kamilaroi Lands, Sacred Sites, the Journey Tracks and Campsites of the Kamilaroi people within the boundaries of Kamilaroi Country.
For thousands of years the Kamilaroi Tribe in north-western NSW lived as hunter gatherers and performed various ceremonies in the vast areas of the Kamilaroi Lands that stretches from the Upper Hunter Valley west to the Warrumbungle Mountains and North into south-west Queensland. At many of these ceremonial sites, trunks of trees were carved, comprising of symbolic motifs, intricate swirls, circles, and zigzags. These carvings were a warning that these sites were spiritually significant and sacred.
I am open from 11am–3pm Saturday and Sunday, or don't hesitate to call me (Roy) on 0433 112 878 if you would like to drop in after hours. I am always very happy to hear from you!
