Gardening Australia is featuring Jane Durand in one of their programs soon.
Having filmed Jane in her studio and environs outside of Brisbane they completed her story by filming her opening on Thursday night. It was fun and interesting to be part of.
Sam from Gardening Australia was so easy going and discreet yet incredibly professional.
Do come and see what Gardening Australia has seen in Jane’s work.
Her exhibition, ‘Rearranged’ Is on until June 9 at Studio W, Woolloomooloo. Wednesday-Sunday, 11-5pm.

The art collection at the Mitchell Library is an oasis for art lovers who are particularly interested in the historical narrative of Australian art.
3 galleries each painted in a different spectacular wall colour, projecting early colonial paintings, portraits, landscapes and urban scenes.
Now included is this fantastic collection is Michael Kelly.
The library has accepted and revered all his sketch books done throughout his painting career. They have also bought two urban landscapes of significant importance to their curatorial brief.
Visiting his display of selected sketch books at the Amaze Gallery is a pleasure.

After an exhibition it is always a pleasure installing sold artworks. Posting off others and art consulting.
The shelf with sculptural glass objects was completed by the humerous ceramic drawing by Jan Howlin.
The love of art combined with interior design merged perfectly with Anna Glynn’s prints hanging next to Tamara Dean’s print.
Peta West’s Lino cuts was the perfect choice to enhance a bespoke light, table and glass
There are no red dots on my website for the sold Lino cut prints by Peta West or the sold photomontage prints by Anna Glynn as they are both an edition. So please enquire if you are also interested in them.

It was great to enjoy performance art and music by The Splinter Orchestra at their all day festival yesterday at Tempe. The 42 degree heat did not deter the performers or audience.
As I enjoyed their seemingly random musical expression with their combination of intriguing sounds and notes it occurred to me that it would be wonderful for a sponsor to take them to Berlin. They would be so well received.
Apparently they have to find a new performance space or ‘home’. Any one out there with any suggestions?

I am reflecting on the two wars currently raging in the world.
And the impact on these two wonderful artists that I have the privilege of knowing.
Olga Suvorova from St Petersburg, Russia and David Gerstein from Israel.
In collaboration with Rakov Gallery, I was going to host an exhibition of her work in 2024.
David Gerstein and I have had a long exhibiting history in the past and it was time for an exhibition of new pieces.
Two contemporary artists from two counties that ignite controversy.
But their art speaks only for themselves.

Christmas and Hanukkah have passed for another year in a flash. I hope you all had a joyous time with family and friends as I did.
But thank you for all your support and trust in me during 2023. Whether you are an artist, client or friend, or all three together, It was very much appreciated.

My New Years Greeting is late but it comes with my very best wishes to you all for a happy, secure and successful New year. Perhaps we can hope that all or some of our wishes and dreams might come true???
I look forward to working for you, or with you, or seeing you again in 2024.

It is very exciting to share the acknowledgment of Michael Kelly’s amazing artistic career with The State Library recently purchasing two of his paintings. The Road to Kings Cross and The Boarding House (Woollomooloo)
This is in addition to the Library recently acquiring his complete collection of ‘Art Diaries’.
A great achievement.
