Vintage Scuba Gear

Vintage Scuba Gear As a dedicated scuba diving enthusiast and collector, I’ve spent years building a remarkable collection of vintage scuba gear.

My assortment includes ancient diving suits, regulators, fins, and masks. Each piece has its own unique story.

A rare piece of Aussie diving history back to life. (almost)

Mark's just refitted the hoses on a late 1950s regulator built for Dr Scoresby Shepherd by the University of Adelaide.

It was dived by him throughout 1960.

Cleaned, but kept completely original. The material-covered hoses are period-correct, just like early gas masks and Russian dive gear of the time.

A true one-of-a-kind.

On display next week at the Rodney Fox and Mark Tozer's Museum and Research Centre. www.vintagescubagear.com.au

This is something special.
A true one-off regulator, built by the University of Adelaide Engineering Faculty back in the 1950s
Even better, it was actually dived by Dr Scoresby Shepherd, one of Australia’s true pioneers in marine science and underwater exploration.
You don’t come across pieces like this very often this is South Australian diving history.
Absolutely stoked to have it in the collection. https://www.vintagescubagear.com.au/product/adelaide-university-1950s-scuba-regulator-scoresby-shepherd/

Wonderful to catchup with the team from the Historical Diving Society USA at the Boston Sea Rovers.

Just when I thought I’d seen most of the weird and wonderful inventions in vintage scuba gear, along comes the BENDEEZ.
The BENDEEZ Emergency Oxygen Adaptor was an Australian 1980s device that let divers breathe pure oxygen using their own regulator a bold idea from the early days of modern dive first aid.
Came in a green case, complete with instructions.
Vintage scuba history never disappoints. https://www.vintagescubagear.com.au/product/bendeez-emergency-oxygen-adaptor/
