Three works. Three individual stories.
One continuing conversation.

Seeing The Recline, The River Within and Release together has made me increasingly aware of the dialogue that developed between these works as I created them for Los Angeles.

Each began independently, yet they became connected through the figure, movement, atmosphere and the recurring presence of 23K gold leaf.
The Recline holds a quieter, sculptural stillness.

The River Within explores what is carried beneath the surface.
And Release captures a suspended moment of transformation, the point between holding on and letting go.

Placed within an interior, their scale and relationship become something quite different. It is one of the reasons I enjoy creating these room studies: they offer a glimpse of how original artwork can change not only a wall, but the atmosphere of a space.

Together, the three works form the collection I created for Voltage of Hope in Los Angeles.

They have now arrived in LA, ready for the next part of their journey, and I’m looking forward to seeing them installed together for the first time.

RELEASE

A suspended moment between holding on and letting go.

In Release, the figure appears to dissolve into light, shadow and 23K gold leaf, caught at the point where certainty begins to soften and something new can emerge.

Her upward tilt became important to me as the work developed. It feels like a small act of hope: not a dramatic transformation, but the quiet decision to look beyond what is known.

This is the third and final work I’ll be exhibiting in Los Angeles this September, alongside The Recline and The River Within.

Three works. One journey. And now they’re on their way to LA.

And there they go. ✈️🇺🇸

A slightly surreal moment seeing three works I’ve spent the last month creating leave the studio and begin their journey to Los Angeles.

The Recline, The River Within and Release are now professionally packed and on their way to LA for Voltage of Hope, presented by this September.

Watching the process unfold — from an idea in the studio, to canvas, to being carefully wrapped, packed and crated for a journey across the world, is a reminder of just how far a work can travel from where it began.

A very big thank you to the team at for taking such care with them.
Next time I see these three, it will be in Los Angeles. 🤍

THE RIVER WITHIN

Stillness on the surface. Movement underneath.

The River Within explores the currents we carry beneath what can be seen, the quiet movement between control and surrender, presence and dissolution.

A pale figure emerges from a dark, atmospheric field while fragmented passages of 23K gold leaf move through the composition like an internal current. The boundaries between figure and environment begin to soften, leaving space for the work to be felt as much as interpreted.

This is the second of three works I'll be presenting in Los Angeles as part of Voltage of Hope with The Pop-Up Project.

The Recline, up close.

Some details aren't meant to be seen from across a room.

Sculptural texture, layered tonal shifts, and 23K gold leaf change as the light moves across the surface, revealing parts of this artwork that a still image can never quite capture.

This is the quieter side of The Recline.

Today I’m revealing the first work from my Los Angeles collection — The Recline.

At 150 × 60 cm, this original mixed-media work combines acrylic, texture and gold leaf in a more abstract, atmospheric interpretation of the figure.

The Recline was created for Voltage of Hope, presented by The Pop-Up Project in Los Angeles this September, and is the first of three works I’ll be sharing from the collection.

Sydney → Los Angeles | September 2026

Three works. One collection. Sydney → Los Angeles. ✨

Over the past month, I've been quietly creating three original works for Voltage of Hope, which will be presented by The Pop-Up Project in Los Angeles this September.

This collection has pushed my practice into new territory: more sculptural, more abstract, more intuitive, and increasingly focused on the space between the figure and its surroundings.

There is still gold. There is still a human form.

But these works feel different.

Today, just a glimpse.

The first full reveal is coming next.

There's something incredibly special about seeing an artwork finally at home.

This is Peony Grace, and her journey to Carly's home began a little differently from a traditional bespoke commission.

Peony Grace began as one of my original designs, created for collectors to select and have individually brought to life as a made-to-order artwork.

Carly chose the design she loved, and from there I transformed it into a finished physical piece through hand-painting, layered detail, texture and luminous gold accents.

While the original composition provides the foundation, every made-to-order artwork is individually hand-finished, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Each develops its own character through the making process.

And then came one of my favourite parts, seeing her in her new home. 🤍

Carly's message made my day:
"I am obsessed!! Thank you SO much again! She looks amazing in this space."

Seeing Peony Grace hanging in the space she was chosen for was such a beautiful full-circle moment.

Thank you, Carly, for choosing my work, trusting me to bring her to life for you, and allowing me to share these photographs.

If you've been looking for an original artwork for your own space, there are two ways we can create something together:

✨ Choose one of my existing made-to-order designs and have it individually brought to life for you.
✨ Or work with me on a bespoke commission tailored to your vision and space.

All three found their homes. 🤍

One of the things I love most about the Incognito Art Show is what it strips away.
No artist names. No biographies. No reputations attached to the work.
Just thousands of original artworks and the simple question: which one speaks to you?

This year, I contributed three small original works: Ascend, Release, and Stillness, and I'm incredibly happy to share that all three were chosen by collectors.

But Incognito is about so much more than selling art.
The exhibition makes owning an original artwork accessible to a much wider audience, while raising funds to support programs for artists living with disability. It also gives emerging and established artists the same A5-sized space on the wall, allowing the artwork itself to lead the conversation.

There's something quite beautiful about being part of an event built around that idea.
And to the three collectors who chose one of my pieces amongst thousands of others — thank you. 🤍
I hope Ascend, Release and Stillness bring you as much joy in their new homes as I had creating them.

A milestone I never imagined when I first returned to painting.

I'm honoured to share that Luxe Wall Art by Lisa has been featured in Fine Art News in an editorial article exploring my journey, artistic influences and the evolution of my contemporary mixed-media practice.

The feature reflects on the experiences that shaped my work, from a lifelong appreciation of beauty, fashion, and self-expression to the creation of artworks that combine portraiture, texture, and hand-applied gold leaf.

It also highlights my upcoming participation in The Pop-Up Project in Los Angeles this September, an exciting opportunity to introduce my work to an international audience.

As someone balancing a full-time career while building an art practice, moments like this are especially meaningful. They are a reminder that every artwork created, every commission completed, and every supporter who has followed the journey has helped make opportunities like this possible.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
