Thanks to all of you who visited us yesterday 😀 A good day was had by all 👌

Thanks to QOCS member Jacob for this video of our latest addition to the museum fleet - our 0405 Mercedes-Benz from Brisbane Bus Lines 🚌

Our next (and final) public event for 2026 will be Saturday November 28th - and it's going to be a pretty big deal 😉

So keep that in your calendar 📅 and watch this space!

Last but by absolutely no means least - a massive shout out to all our volunteers who make days like yesterday happen 🙏

Everyone who showed up to help prepare the museum, prepare & clean the buses, welcome people to the museum, looking after the sales of drinks souvenirs & snags, driving our joy ride buses, counting visitor numbers....coordinating the day, planning things, managing contingencies.... there is SO much that goes on behind the scenes that most folks never see.

So THANK YOU 😊

It may not be summer (yet), but we do have a very special bus 🚌 number 69 to share with you THIS Saturday! 😁

Now whether you liked the Brian Adams song or not (I personally wasn't a fan 😆), if you like veteran buses - and even more so if you like Mercedes-Benz buses, then our next open day is a must!

A surprise gift to QOCS and the Brisbane Transport Museum at the celebration of QOCS 30th anniversary earlier this month, was gratefully received from the Mitchell family of Brisbane Bus Lines, by way of this immaculate 2000 model Mercedes-Benz 0405 Bustech bodied low-floor bus - complete with a fresh refurbishment by Royans Transport Accident Repairs, also sponsored by the Mitchell family 🙏😀

BBL69 will now go on to represent Brisbane Bus Lines in preservation, in recognition of the Mitchell family's contribution to the bus industry, and all those who have worked for, travelled on or otherwise, this once iconic operator.

As part of our last standard operating day fir the year (there will be one more in late November - but we'll talk more about that soon - that's also going to be a unique event 😉), we will be proud to welcome BBL69 to the fleet - and you're welcome to join us 😀

Our famous FREE (with museum entry) joy rides will be led by none other than our newest edition to the museum fleet, but BBL69 will be supported by bus 858 (who not long got back from her Sydney escapade), bus 185 (our mist recent Indra sponsored restoration 😀), and bus 958 - our second last Indra sponsored restoration.

So there should* be a good mix there, with Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Volvo & MAN buses al to be enjoyed 😉

(* - "should" - we reserve the right to substitute buses due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control - but as always, we'll do our best 👍).

Two 🚌 representing private operators, two 🚌 representing Brisbane City Council 😎

Our sausage sizzle, cold drinks and souvenir shop will be operating too - no matter the weather 🌞🌩☂️🌝

That sounds like a good day out to me! 😎

G'day friends! 😎 Our QOCS crew and bus 858 have long since returned from a successful trip to Sydney and back, representing QOCS and the Brisbane Transport Museum at the Sydney Bus Museum 's Busfest for 2026!

From all reports, 858 seemed to enjoy the run (as did our crew), and even got to hang out with another former Surfside Bustech Volvo of particular significance now in the stewardship of our mates at Glenorie Coaches 😊

858 and our members contributed by participating in providing joy rides to visitors (along with a selection of other buses from all over), photo shoots at Sydney landmarks and participating in the bus equivalent of a brilliant "show & shine" were had with a great turn-out of buses, volunteers and visitors alike.

Thanks to our volunteer crew who conceived this idea and delivered it - representing QOCS at such a significant national bus preservation event - with one of our own buses 🚌

We'd also love to thank our mates at Skybus Sydney who hosted 858 and made themselves available to assist with support and mateship as part of making this happen - without that in-kind support, events allowing such a broad diversity of visiting buses for shows like this, simply wouldn't happen. Thank you 🙏😎

Our bus 858 is representing QOCS and the Brisbane Transport Museum tomorrow at the Sydney Bus Museum Bus Fest!

From 10am - 3pm at the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney, over 60 buses will be participating in this awesome event 🚌😎

858 had a smooth and spirited run down the Pacific Highway to attend, and reunited with another significant Bustech bodied ex Surfside Volvo courtesy of our mates at Glenorie Coaches.

If buses are your jam, and you also happen to be in the Sydney region tomorrow, why not pop in and say g'day? 😁

The "butterbox" big day out 🚌 😁 Bus 185 revisited some "well known butterbox haunts" today, on her welcome back tour 😎

Now that our 1989 Volvo B10M has been meticulously restored to its original Citybus glory, check out its full transformation courtesy of the team at Royans Coachworks.

Bus 185 is the second heritage Brisbane City Council bus to benefit from our ongoing sponsorship agreement with Indra.
