On Tuesday 26 May at 7.30pm at the Moonee Ponds Court House Museum, we will have John Wren as a guest speaker. John is from the TAA Museum with stories of the Trans Australia Airlines (1946 - 1992).

Old Essendon Heritage Walk on 3 May has only 3 tickets left. Discover the stories behind Old Essendon on this guided walk with the Essendon Historical Society.
Tickets are available at https://www.trybooking.com/DJOUW Prices are $20 for EHS members and $25 for Non Members. The walk will have a Guide and a booklet will also be provided.

Next Tuesday 24 March at 7.30 pm the EHS is hosting author Peter Hodge. His presentation will be on Flt Lt Parker 'Joe' Hodge.

Flt Lt Hodge grew up in Essendon where he developed his love of flying. He became an RAAF pilot and tragically lost his life in the Netherlands East Indies (Indonesia) during World War II.

Guided Heritage Walk of Aberfeldie Sunday 1 March 2026 commencing at 2pm.

This walk offers a fascinating glimpse into Aberfeldie’s past and its people.

Price is $20 for EHS members and $25 for Non Members. The walk will have a Guide and booklet. Tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/DIEIZ

The walk will meet at the corner of Combermere Street and Park Crescent and conclude outside Ave Maria College on Vida Street. About 2.5km in length, it will take around 2 hours.

We are selling calendars for the coming year featuring historical photos of our local district.

The 2026 Calendar features photographs taken by Charles Nettleton whose work famously documented the district in 1866. Nettleton is perhaps best known for producing the first souvenir photo albums in Australia and, capturing what is believed to be the only genuine photograph of Ned Kelly.

You can purchase yours:
1. At the Moonee Ponds Court House on Sunday 14 December for just $15. Payment can be made with cash or Square EFTPOS.
