In February 2022, 24-year-old Shad Thyrion was killed inside his mother’s home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He had been spending time with Taylor Schabusiness, a woman he knew, when the night turned into a horrifying murder.

Hours later, Shad’s mother went into the basement and noticed a bucket covered with a towel. When she lifted it, she found her son’s severed head inside. Police searching the house discovered additional remains hidden in bags and containers throughout the basement.

Schabusiness was later convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a co**se, and sexual assault. The case drew national attention because of the brutal crime scene and the horrifying way Shad’s mother was the person who discovered what had happened.

Raining in good ol' Montville. But it's beautiful. Loving the sound of the rain on the tin roof. The museum is open today regardless and I look forward to seeing those who are travelling especially to come to my little museum of death.

Kaylub Giamanco, a 36-year-old father of two, is being praised for his actions during Thursday’s deadly shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.

Giamanco was reportedly driving home during his lunch break when he heard gunshots and saw the gunman, identified as 16-year-old John J. Griffin, entering the school. Rather than continuing on, Giamanco, who has a concealed carry permit, made the decision to follow the shooter inside and confront him.

According to his brother, Kyle Giamanco, Kaylub pursued Griffin into the school, where the gunman had entered a special education classroom. Kaylub ultimately fatally shot Griffin, stopping the attack before police entered the building.

The shooting left three children, ages 5, 8 and 11, and a teacher dead. A 7-year-old student and another teacher were also critically injured.

Despite being hailed as a hero, Kaylub is reportedly struggling with the aftermath of what happened. His brother said he has been unable to get the children out of his head and feels guilty that he couldn't save more people.

“He's a hero,” his brother said.

A father who was simply on his lunch break found himself in an unimaginable situation and made a split-second decision that may have prevented even more lives from being lost. While his actions stopped the gunman, the tragedy has left an entire community grieving for the children and teacher who did not make it home.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
