DEAR EVERYONE

From this day forward, I want to make something very clear about the way we use the Spooky Hollow page. At Spooky Hollow, we deal in fact. Proven fact. When I share historical information, stories, artefacts, events, people, places or research connected to the museum, I do so with the intention of presenting information that can be supported, verified and responsibly discussed. This page is not a space for conspiracy theories, rumours, gossip, speculation or personal opinion that deliberately steers a conversation away from established fact.

I completely appreciate that everyone has their own thoughts, beliefs, experiences and opinions, and I respect that people will not always agree with one another. What I will not allow, however, is for this business page to become a public platform where people use the comments to unload personal grievances, attack others, derail conversations or, as the saying goes, bleed on people who did not cut them. There is a time and place for personal debate, and if an honest, open and respectful conversation needs to happen, I am always willing to have that discussion in person. What I am not willing to do is allow a professional business page to turn into a battleground for arguments, accusations, assumptions or unrelated personal issues.

Spooky Hollow is a professional business, a museum, and a place built around history, artefacts, evidence and factual storytelling. The page represents that business and, from this day forward, it will be treated accordingly. Respectful questions, genuine curiosity and thoughtful discussion will always be welcome, but comments designed to provoke, spread misinformation, create unnecessary conflict or shift factual content into conspiracy and gossip will be removed. I value every person who follows, visits and supports Spooky Hollow, and part of respecting this community means keeping this page professional, factual, respectful and focused on what Spooky Hollow is here to do.

Next Friday on September 11th.
Private Groups are coming through the museum. The people attending will be the first to look before the museum is open to the general public.
I will be answering messages through out the week to book people in for the private group showings on Friday the 11th.
I am getting excited now. Squuuuuueeeeeeeee!!!

There are so many things that people once believed to be true, when in actual fact they were no where near the actual truth. However, no matter how many times people said that something was not true or even possible, people believed what they wanted to believe.

This video is from 2 years ago when I first heard about the case.
I am so happy that Netflix have released a 3 part documentary on this case as her husband needs to be investigated for her passing. Coercive control/manipulation is a real thing and him being the C.***.T - Cunning, Unethical, Narcissistic, Tyrant - that he is and always has been, he will stop at nothing at seeking revenge, all the while preaching about God. I know in my gut, he is guilty of murder, perhaps not by his hand himself, but by control, manipulation, bribery, instilling fear and using God against a beautiful soul who fell victim to his lies.

THE IRON EYE GOUGERS by Cameron Bayliss

The Iron Eye Gougers were instruments of deliberate mutilation designed to attack one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body: the eyes.

Used as instruments of punishment, interrogation and intimidation during the medieval and early modern periods, these heavy iron devices were positioned around the eye sockets before pressure was gradually increased by means of handles, clamps or screw mechanisms.

Depending upon their construction, the sharpened or cupped metal ends could press directly against the eyeballs, forcing them deeper into the socket, rupturing the delicate tissue or tearing the eye from its natural position.

The victim could be restrained while the torturer controlled the pressure slowly, allowing terror to build before permanent injury was inflicted, and in some cases the threat of blindness alone was enough to force a confession or submission.

Damage caused by such treatment could include destroyed vision, shattered bones around the eye socket, severe bleeding, infection and permanent facial disfigurement, while survival meant living with the physical and psychological consequences long after the punishment had ended.

The true horror of the Iron Eye Gougers was therefore not simply the pain they produced, but the calculated destruction of sight itself, taking from a prisoner the ability to see the world as a lasting reminder of the power exercised over them.

We have 2 medieval Iron Eye Gouger's in Spooky Hollow. Not as ornate as the one pictures, but just as terrifying all the same.

UPDATE: 100% worth watching if you like a good psychological thriller with a WTF ending. Totally not what I thought it would be. Brilliant with 4 out of 5 stars.

Watching this while taking a break from my day job. I have had true crime playing in the back ground all morning while typing. Some of the stories that I have heard today have been WTF!?!? The Gift with Jason Bateman and Joel Edgerton who also directed. Jason and Joel are both brilliant actors. I am already feeling uncomfortable 20 minutes in, so that means this is going to be a great movie. If you have seen it, no spoilers please.
