Happy Easter from the GS team 🥚

Wishing you all a relaxing and joyful long weekend.

A quiet moment of balance and movement, this reflective, egg-shaped pendulum by Ingo Maurer captures the beauty of simplicity and rhythm. Its mirrored surface gently distorts and reflects its surroundings, while the slow oscillation brings a sense of calm, grounding, and stillness, a small pause we all need.

Our studio will be closed over the Easter break and we’ll be back Tuesday!

Kicking off the year with some wonderful news ✨

We are proud to share that our lighting design for the Xavier College Kostka Building has been awarded Gold at the Australian Design Awards, adding to the project’s continued recognition across national and industry awards, including the Learning Environments Victoria/Tasmania.

Our lighting scheme was carefully crafted to enhance learning, inspire curiosity, and honor the school’s rich heritage, all while embracing adaptability and energy efficiency.

We’re thrilled to take part in the “Best Dressed Christmas Window” competition!
 
Introducing: LIQUID LIGHT ✨
 
Our festive window reimagines Christmas through an Australian lens – celebrating water rather than snow. While the Northern Hemisphere glistens with frost, our light shimmers like the ocean at dusk, reflecting warmth, movement, and calm.
 
At the heart of the display is Fisherman’s Tears by Ingo Maurer – a delicate suspended net of glass droplets illuminated by layers and water-like reflections. Together they capture the quiet beauty of light through water, inviting a moment of stillness amid the Christmas rush.

Meet Joshua Lewis ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Joshua to the GS team as our new Senior Lighting Designer.
Originally from New Zealand, with experience spanning Berlin and beyond, Joshua brings a creative mix of spatial design, fine arts, and technology.

He combines creative thinking with precision, designing light that enhances both architecture and atmosphere.

Outside the studio, you’ll find him always making something, whether it be sewing clothing, building furniture or making a light sculpture.

True to GS tradition, we welcomed him by throwing him straight into the chaos - a full Christmas lighting install with no time, no plan, but plenty of sparkle.
