Melbourne artist Nicky Tsekouras has delivered yet again at MOD, this time with the sculpture Unveiling the Unwanted. Witness a provocative large-scale sculpture created from hundreds of pairs of underwear stripped off and donated by visitors inside MOD’s infamous “Donate Your Un**es For Art” booth.
Using discarded undergarments suspended from wire hangers, the installation transforms deeply personal items into an artwork exploring intimacy, waste, desire, vulnerability and societal taboo. Each pair carries its own unseen story — elevated from laundry basket anonymity into a strangely beautiful sculptural form.
Playful and impossible to ignore, Unveiling the Unwanted invites audiences to reconsider ideas of cleanliness, value and desirability while perfectly embodying Museum of Desire’s world of art, intimacy and play.
On display until Sunday, when MODs Melbourne season officially ends. Dare to look closer.
