Why is the Ancient Egyptian God of Wisdom associated with a bin chicken? πŸ—‘οΈπŸ”

Meet Thoth π“…€π“€ - a lunar god, scribe to the gods, god of wisdom, magic, knowledge, science, mathematics, writing, inventor of hieroglyphics π“ŠΉπ“Œƒπ“ͺ and keeper of cosmic order.

πŸ€” Depicted as a god with the body of a man and the head of a Sacred Ibis.
But why this bird?

πŸŒ™ The curved beak of the ibis perfectly mirrored the shape of a crescent moon, linking Thoth π“…€π“€ to his role as a celestial timekeeper.

β€‹πŸ§  Egyptians watched the ibis hunt with deliberate, exact movements, seeing it as a symbol of high intelligence and patience.

πŸ“œβœ¨ So, remember this:
Bin Chicken = Wisdom and Genius.

The night sky is a goddess named Nut π“Œπ“π“‡―π“€ πŸŒ™πŸŒ
She didn't just live in the stars, she was the stars. 🌟✨️

When Egyptians looked up at the Milky Way, they were looking right at her body arched over the Earth from East to West. 🌌

Meet Nut π“Œπ“π“‡―π“€
(pronounced Noot, like boot πŸ‘’)

πŸ‘‘ Nut π“Œπ“π“‡―π“€ is the ultimate power Mum:
She was the mother of Egypt's most famous deities: Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys.

⚰️ Nut π“Œπ“π“‡―π“€ protected the deceased:
Her star-covered body was painted or carved inside coffin lids so the dead slept under a giant, protective cosmic hug before being reborn at dawn.

πŸͺ Next time you look up at the night sky, remember you’re looking at Nut π“Œπ“π“‡―π“€ holding up the cosmos. πŸŒ™βœ¨

🐸 Not just a frog ➑️ she’s one of Ancient Egypt’s oldest goddesses.

Meet Heqet, goddess of childbirth, fertility and new life.

πŸ› Her worship dates back to around 3000 BCE, making her one of Egypt’s earliest known goddesses. 😲

But why a frog? 🐸

Frogs appeared in huge numbers after the Nile flooded, becoming a symbol of life, fertility and renewal.πŸͺ·

🐸 Heqet was shown as a frog or frog-headed woman. Pregnant women wore Heqet amulets for protection, and she was believed to breathe life into newly created bodies. ✨️

Chapter 8: Packing for Eternity 🏺✨

If you were about to begin the greatest journey of your life π“‹Ήπ“ˆ–π“, what would you take with you?? πŸŽ’ πŸ›„ 🧳

πŸ› The Ancient Egyptians believed their tomb π“‡‹π“‡©π“Šƒπ“‰ was more than a resting place. It was the beginning of their Journey to the Afterlife.

They filled their tombs π“‡‹π“«π“Šƒπ“‰π“ͺ with the things they believed they would need in eternity π“Ž›π“‡³π“Ž›.
Such as; food, furniture, jewellery, statues, and sacred stories painted on the walls. πŸ–Ό 🎨

🌌 To them, these weren't just treasures.

They were carefully chosen to help them continue their journey, whether they hoped to walk through the Field of Reeds or join the eternal stars above. 🌾🌟

They believed the items inside their tomb traveled with them to the Afterlife.🧳

The aim of the game was to be granted Everlasting Life for all Eternity π“™π“‹Ήπ“†–π“Ž›π“‡³π“Ž›.

Now it's your turn to step inside their story. πŸ“–

πŸ›οΈ Visit Tomb of the Pharaohs Cairns and discover the incredible journeys the Ancient Egyptians believed would last forever.

Chapter 7: Two Dreams of Eternity 🌾⭐

β˜€οΈ Just as the sun returned from the Duat 𓇼𓄿𓏏𓉐 each morning, the Ancient Egyptians hoped their own journey π“‹΄π“ˆ–π“ƒ€π“π“ would continue after death.

Some hoped to reach the Field of Reeds π“‡π“π“ˆ…π“‡‹π“„Ώπ“‚‹π“…±π“†°π“Š–, a peaceful place that looked like the very best parts of Egypt. πŸͺ·πŸŒΎ

They believed they could be reunited with their loved ones and enjoy an eternal, happy life. πŸ«‚πŸ’•

🌠🌟 Others hoped to join the stars 𓋴𓃀𓄿𓇼𓏦, becoming eternal spirits who lived among the gods in the afterlife 𓇼𓄿𓏏𓉐.

To the Egyptians, these ideas didn't replace each other. They were simply different ways of imagining eternity π“Ž›π“‡³π“Ž›.

Whether in green fields or among the stars, the journey continued.

πŸ€” But how do you prepare for a journey that lasts forever? 🧳

🏺 Tomorrow, we will step inside the tombs to find the answer, with our final chapter in our series "Journey To Eternity."
