Round 56 of the South Australian Government’s Active Club Program is now open, offering local sporting clubs grants of up to $1,500 or $3,000 through the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.

The funding is available specifically for:

• Medical equipment (such as life-saving defibrillators and fully stocked club first aid kits)
• First aid training to ensure your coaches, volunteers, and players have the skills to respond in an emergency
• Whether your club needs a new AED, first aid restocks, or training for your team, St John SA is here to help you choose the right package.

More ambulances are hitting Darwin roads from today! 🚑

Thanks to Northern Territory Government's $10 million support package, we’re adding more frontline resources where demand is greatest, including:

- Two permanent peak-period ambulances
- A second Critical Response Unit and
- A dedicated Low Acuity Response Unit

That means more crews on the road through the busiest parts of the day, stronger critical care coverage and more options to get patients the right care, sooner.

For our crews and our community, it’s a welcome step towards building the ambulance service the Territory needs, while we continue discussing long-term solutions.

Honours Recipients Fellowship Luncheon

The Order of Australia SA Branch hosts Honours Recipients Fellowship Luncheon Meetings for members of the Order of Australia and other honours recipients, partners and friends, at the Naval, Military and Air Force Club in Adelaide. The guest speaker on Thursday 27 August 2026 was former St John Ambulance South Australia Commissioner Ray Greig OAM (standing, second from left). His topic was, “How my professional career and volunteer learnings benefited the community of SA, including an overview of St John Ambulance in Australia from beginning to today”. Ray was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia, “For service to the community through St John Ambulance Australia” (AD10). The MC for the event was Noel Hender OAM BEM, SA Branch Chair (standing, first on the left).
